I bought this hand mixer at my local walmart about 2 weeks ago. I loved that this one came with the storage case and had 300 watts of power. It seemed to be everything I wanted. It is very powerfull and has a lot of features on it that I like. the disappointing part is that the chrome plating on the beaters started to peel and flake off so I ended up with little bits of chrome in my cake batter and icing. I'm very upset because I thought I had made a good choice. And I guess it's possible that I just ended up with the one bad one in the whole bunch. I'm going to return it tomorrow for one that doesn't have chrome plating on it. :(

After seeing this mixer advertised, I put it on my Christmas wish list and received one in December 2009 as a gift. The mixer was used 5 times or less and the motor quit working. I tried restarting the mixer by unplugging it and then plugging it back in, as well as trying to operate it outside the bowl. None of the suggestions in the instruction booklet worked. I had no success in getting it to work. Since the mixer was needed immediately, I purchased another mixer to attempt to complete my baking project. The second mixer worked just fine and I thought that maybe the first one was just a dud. Well, I cleaned the mixer and stored it as directed. Then when I pulled it out to use it again (2 days after I bought it), the motor wasn't working. It didn't even attempt to start. I only used the mixers to prepare cakes, nothing heavy duty and when cleaning only used a damp cloth. Since I bought this one, I returned it to Wal-Mart. Overall, I was impressed with the mixer, until both of the 2 mixers quit working in such a short time period. It was heavier than my previous mixer, but that was no big deal. Maybe others have had better luck, but in my opinion this mixer is useless.

You will Luv this mixer if you were the purchase one!I highly recommend this mixer because of the multiple mixing attachments, the easy to use & set LED digital controls,it's so lightweight for such a powerful one!I just luv the slow start feature sure does cut down on flour flying everywhere when adding to your batter or dough!Unlike my old mixer it does not tip back into the mixing bowl even with a fully loaded beaters very wide base on it!I have only owned for a few days now I am just very much enjoying using this product I can not wait to do all of my hoilday baking now! With this mixer it will be a pleasure!Happy Mixing,Thank you

I admit being picky with my kitchen appliances. The first test a mixer has to stand with me is a good pizza - to see if the dough hooks work. I've had an awful experience with my old mixer (Procter) that literally whirled the whole pizza dough up into the mixers interior...
This one did the pizza test fine and other than being a bit heavy it has performed quite well. Personally I have never used any speed past 4 - and that only for fun when whipping up egg-whites so my recommendation to GE would be to spend more time engineering durability than making sure this mixer will be able to operate as a centrifuge.
After about a year the power button became hard to operate. It was never my favorite part of this design that it has this little touchy-feely button instead of the hold fashioned knob but it started to be unresponsive half of the time causing me to unplug it a few times because it was over-beating my cream.
I am currently in the process of returning it, after it completely stopped working right around Christmas and so far I am not impressed with the service. If offered I guess I would take a money back offer rather than a replacement of this mixer!
I have not seen them much in this country but both my mother and grandmother have Braun Hand Mixers and those guys are seriously indestructible - I inherited my grandmas mixer when I first moved out - at which point it was already 30 years old, and it is now stored in my parents basement, fully functional awaiting my return ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by KeepUpWithTechnology Wow a digital hand mixer!
I love the way this hand mixer sits on it's own, the only problem I have is that the buttons are hard to press. So far, it's okay I've only used it once. I hope because it's digital it won't go out on me.
Rated 1 out of 5 by 1dolphin A piece of JUNK
Received this mixer for Christmas. After two uses, one of the wire attachments wrapped around itself, creating a useless blob. The next use caused the other wire attachment to come apart, into 4 pieces. The next time I needed a mixer, I tried the dough hooks. One dough hook broke in half. Finally I needed to beat some eggs for a meringue. I used the only complete attachment left - the single whisk. Half way into the meringue several of the wires popped out. So, I put it away, thinking I'd go to a second hand store and find some attachments that would work, but sadly the chord attachment then broke. Junk! Junk! Junk!

My husband and I chose this mixer over the Black and Decker model with similar features. The second week I had it the button to turn on and off seemed to not work as well as the first time I used it, 3 minutes into using it I started to hear a rattling noise, one of the beaters shot out of the body and I was unable to turn the mixer off becasue the button would not work I had to reach to the cord and unplug from the wall to get it to turn off and at that point the second beater shot out...breaking my bowl. I tried to return to Wal mart directly however they have told me that I must contact GE, I do not want a replacement I want my money back. This is not the first GE product I have had with issues- lets just say I will never use GE again.
Rated 1 out of 5 by BitsAndBytes Don't buy this mixer
I bought this mixer 4 months ago and was very happy with it for 4 months - then it stopped working. The motor no longer works. I liked the features and it appeared to be sturdy but if it only lasts 4 months - it's not worth it.

I have gone through 2 of these mixers and both have died! The first one the power button would not work and the second one I could not adjust the speed. The buttons are questionable. I am not using very often and only for cake mixes!!! Do not buy this product!
Rated 1 out of 5 by rlktweet Worst hand mixer ever purchased
I purchased this mixer on 12-18. I checked ever brand that was available at the store and this was the most expensive our Wal-Mart carried. When I opened the box, it was packaged in a nice carrying case and the appearance of the mixer was nice. I checked all the utensils that came with it and was not very impressed with the mixer attachments, they seemed to be very flimsy, and I was able to bend the prongs on the beaters with my fingers. I went ahead and used it and when I was done, the soldering had come apart that holds the beater tines together. This product was not made very well at all.
When I took it back to the store, the associate told me that they had quite a few of them returned for the same problem or the whisk attachment had broke. I will never purchase another hand mixer with these types of attachments. My last hand mixer lasted me approx 10 years and it had the regular type of beater attachments.
I do like the appearance, the electronic controls, the storage box, and the detachable cord. This would be a good product if it had a better quality of attachments. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I went to Walmart for a new mixer because my old one no longer worked. This was the ONLY one on the shelf, so I bought it. I came home and tried it, and loved it. I was surprised at all the negative comments, except the one stating it's a bit heavy. I agree. Anyhow, I was impressed with the power. 13 days after I bought it, I had made whoopie pies. I went to turn the mixer back on to do the filling, and the button wouldn't work. I kept trying, and finally it turned on, but I had a hard time shutting it off. When I went to try it again, the power button would not work. I tried unplugging, and plugging the chord back in...and even had someone else try using it. Nothing. I returned it today and ended up getting a Black & Decker. Unfortunately, things just aren't made the way the way they used to be, and I'm hoping this new mixer works well. One thing is for sure, I will wait to review this next purchase, and hope it lasts more than 2 weeks!
Rated 5 out of 5 by eileen31415 This is a really great hand mixer, especially for one under thirty dollars! Whips cream in no time, beats egg whites, more than powerful enough to handle a stiff dough. I recommend it highly!
Rated 5 out of 5 It's great. I love it.
If you are looking for a hand held mixer, this is definately excellent in every way.Well worth the money. I like the extra pieces with it and it's in a case to keep it together so you don't lose anything. The lid seems to be a tad bit flimsy but everything else is of excellent quality. I use it almost every day.I love it and it is really powerfull for a hand held mixer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by wifemommynurse Great For Price!
This is a very good hand mixer. It's easy to use. Since I only use this mixer to make buttercream icing, I like the slow start feature that keeps confectioner's sugar from forming a dust cloud in my kitchen. This mixer appears to be better constructed than other mixers three times the price. The sleek design and carrying case are super as well.

I've always been under the impression that GE made a good product. This mixer looks good, and that is its only good point.
The beaters, thin and useless, keep falling out, the speed stuck on the "1" position, and it is exceptionally loud.
I had an inexpensive "Pillsbury" brand mixer that for many years plowed through cookie dough, pie dough, etc. It finally gave out after an especially long afternoon of mixing cake decorating icing.
My daughter bought this for me last December, and I first used it this autumn. I've no receipt, so I guess it goes into the TRASH.
This GE mixer was not even able to cream room temperature butter with sugar.
I DO NOT recommend spending your dollars on it!

Thing sounds like a jet engine, but does everything I hoped and more. I wanted to automate my bread baking a little, but those big countertop models look good, but are too expensive and take up too much room.
I looked at handheld ones, but they all looked wimpy. I tried one and took it back the same day.
Then I saw this one. When I saw that it came with dough hooks, I thought I would maybe give it a chance, although I doubted it could handle two or three pounds of dough like I usually make and kneed by hand. I thought perhaps I would portion the dough up and kneed a pound at a time. The first one I tried couldn't even handle a one pound loaf.
My concerns were unfounded. It plows through three pounds of heavy whole wheat dough without even slowing down. I stay in first gear so the noise isn't too bad.

This product is very helpful and I really like that you can take the speed up and down with just a touch of the buttons

It's HUGE--hard to handle and I've got large hands. GE has managed to take a simple kitchen appliance and complicate it. I don't like the slow start feature, seems sluggish and I wish it just had a simple on, off and speed dial.
Rated 1 out of 5 by jns2008 For the cost thought it would last longer
My husband bought this for me since my ancient GE hand mixer finally kicked the bucket. It served me a long time, so we figured we would go with another GE brand hand mixer. I really liked the design, it was really sleek and I loved the chrome. It was heavier than my last mixer, but still operated nicely. I've had it since the last week of December, used it about 10 times and the power button already doesn't work. It started out gradually that I had to begin pushing harder to turn it on and off, and now it doesn't turn on at all. I can adjust the speed and turn the Slow Start on. Just can't use the darn thing. Unfortuntaley my husband threw the receipt away so now I'm stuck with hand mixer paper wieght.

I bought this in February of 2011. I have used it maybe a dozen times. All of a sudden one of the attachment holders won't grip the attachment! So, it is essentially useless. It did work nicely the few times it worked. It's nice looking and not overly loud. But what's the point if it doesn't hold up?

This mixer was a gift from my children and it turned out to be the best hand mixer I have ever owned or used and I have owned several different hand mixers in the past. I would highly recommend to everyone.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Treelan Buyer BEWARE! Don't buy this mixer!
My last hand mixer lasted an amazing 15 years. So, naturally, I expected my new purchase to at least come close.
No such luck. This mixer was in my house for 6 months and used about 3 times until December 2011, when my holiday baking went into full swing.
This mixer became reluctant to start. Then it became reluctant to change speed. Then it stayed on one speed (SUPER FAST). Now it won't start at all.
Don't buy one - it is just like flushing your money down the toilet.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Eeyore29 Useless
At first I thought this was a great mixer. After only using it a few times it has stopped working. It was a Christmas present and is completely useless now. Do not buy this mixer. My advice would be to try a different brand.
Rated 1 out of 5 by smlarl Both Went Bad After 7 Months
My husband purchased this mixer for me in December 2010 after our old one (from the 70s) broke. Immediately I noticed a problem with the switch. I'd have to press it 2-5 times before it would turn either off or on. BUT I dealt with it because I loved the slow start feature, the look of it, and the nice case it came in. Unfortunately the switch completely failed in July. Assuming I just got a bad one I exchanged it for a new one. That was 7/14/11 so the first one lasted 7 months. Since getting the second one, the whisk came unglued from the rod while whipping up some cream, the beaters have become unwelded at the bottom while making frosting, and now today 2/16/12 the switch failed completely again. So this second one has lasted only 7 months as well. In my opinion a mixer should last closer to 7 years, longer really, not 7 months.
Rated 2 out of 5 by laneski Poor quality
I replaced my old mixer with this one. The ratings were not available at the when I purchased it, so I took a chance with this mixer. I used it once and had cocoa dust everywhere and in every nook and cranny of this mixer. After one washing, the attachments had rust on them. This mixer was one of the worst I have used and the quality, poor. Search for a durable hand mixer is still on.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Diagar Just quit working
For a GE product I am extremely unimpressed and disappointed. I even called GE directly and they ewre no help. Had this mixer for about 2 years. Noticed about 6 months ago that the on-off switch would sometimes work and sometimes wouldn't work. I used this on Saturday with no problem, worked first time. Tried to use it today (Monday) and it would not turn on for nothing. I tried to unplug it and re-plug it in and no use. Have to go and buy a new one. Very disappointed for a GE product that's for sure. Maybe selling items for Walmart they tend to be cheaper than normal GE products? I've had a GE mixer for about 12 years before it died which Is why I went with another GE. Loved the LED lights, very easy to operate, but after spending almost $30 for two years just doesn't work for me.

I liked the fact that this had its' own storage case. I used it about 5 times at the most and the rod for the whisk attachment broke :( I am very disappointed with the quality of the product. I would not recommend this item to anyone!

Just after 1 year and occasional use the plastic gear drive inside the beater stripped. Also, the chrome plating on the beaters had started to flake. Why not have solid stainless beaters and metal gears !! DISAPPOINTED !! Learned my lesson ..
