Rated 5 out of 5★ by Fabulousover50 Perfect Workout for Beginners I watch Functional Fitness with Suzanne Andrews on my local PBS station and since doing the program have lost 50 lbs and more importantly have more energy, and my doctor said my cholesteral and blood pressure is much better. After doing the exercises, I thought it was a godsend since I'm wasn't in that great of shape to begin with and don't like going to the gym, but I can do this and after I feel like I have more energy to get through the day, not totally exhausted like some other DVD's I've tried. I can't always do the show and I travel so I got this DVD which has 2 low impact aerobic workouts on it and it gives you three ways to do the exercises, so you can go at your own pace even if you're REALLY overweight. I also enjoy the music only version because I love the music on this DVD and now that I know the exercises, I can follow along to the music. I also learned a lot from the bonus section with the dietician on this dvd. 11/10/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by RMaine Great gift for beginners or seniors! As a PT, my senior patients sometimes ask for exercise video recommendations. Finally I can recommend one! If you're looking for something like P90X or Insanity, this is NOT the video for you BUT...if you're a beginner or a senior looking for something gentle to get you started, this is it! Suzanne shows 3 levels from sitting to standing. There are 2 different 25 minute workouts and almost all of the workouts can be done, and are demonstrated, in sitting. (And if you really can't stand to do the couple of standing exercises, just sit them out because they're very brief and will give you a chance to get a sip of water!) Suzanne is very encouraging and easy to understand-there are no fancy dance moves here! As always, check with your doctor first, but really, this is a great video for people who are looking for some great overall strengthening exercises that will get your heart pumping, improve your posture and improve your balance. Rated 5 out of 5★ by circus109 I'm Impressed Wow!! The Functional Fitness with Suzanne Andrews Fat Burning DVD has helped me tremendously! I have been struggling to lose weight for years and have even considered weight loss surgery. When I normally try to exercise, I usually get frustrated and quit. But this DVD makes it easy to workout, even when you are a plus size like me. I know the fat burning is taking place because my clothes are already getting smaller. I have more energy throughout the day and the exercising is motivating me to eat less at meal time. I know I'm getting healthier every day as I workout with this DVD. It is truly the way to go when you want to exercise and get fit, but not in a room full of people. Being overweight makes me uncomfortable about working out in a crowd. I have gone to the gym, but being a 44-year-old fat chick in a room full of skinny 20-year-olds is no fun. I feel awkward and think everyone is staring at me struggling to keep up with the rest of the class. But with the Functional Fitness with Suzanne Andrews Fat Burning DVD, I can do a workout in the comfort of my own living room and not worry about what others think. I also like the fact you can skip the intro and go straight to the exercises when you are short on time. The music is great and something I would normally listen to when I'm not working out. Not only am I enjoying the DVD, my 82-year-old grandmother is even able to do it! Since the exercises can be done sitting down, she gets a workout in daily and feels ten years younger! Rated 5 out of 5★ by KentuckyJan Overweight People Can Do This! Really terrific DVD for overweight people, even REALLY overweight like me! I need to lose 107 pounds and so many of the exercise programs I've tried are just WAY too much for me so I get discouraged and quit. This is the first DVD I feel great about because I can do it and after I feel really good, not drop dead exhausted like other DVD's I've tried. There's two workouts in the DVD and alternate doing one on one day and doing the other one the next to keep it interesting and I really like the paper plate workout! I'm trying to get fit enough so I can do more. The days of me wanting to look like a model are gone, now I just want to have more energy and be healthier so I can have a better quality of life and this DVD sure is helping. 12/07/2011
