When the CHA unit died and I received the estimates on replacing it I quickly looked to other options because I did not have that kind of money.I live in Florida so AC is mandatory. After some internet research I settled on trying the window units as a short term remedy. I have not been disappointed by either the cooling or the cost efficiency ! My bill is actually lower.This is an excellent window AC. My home is a 1400sq. ft home - 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.The 8k unit cools the front and there is an 5k window unit (also Frigidaire) that is in the master bedroom in the back.That said, I was unsatisfied by the built in accordion venting and foam pieces which were included; so I added semi permanent window sealing treatments around the installation. 03/13/2012
Great AC for my needs Very hard to find a "manuel" small AC. I have a dog kennel and cannot use a remote control AC. If the power goes out, the AC goes out and stays off until reprogrammed. Not so with a mauel type. Need automatic on with small pups in the kennel when I am not home. This AC fits all my needs! Love it. Hope it stays around for future purchases. 07/25/2011
Really good purchase Bought one a couple of months ago. So good, buying another to replace a GE AC that is not nearly as efficient, nor does it work as well. Will replace a 12,000BTU GE unit with this 8000BTU unit, if it works as well as the one in the living room, should be comfortable rest of the summer, even here in S Texas, where the heat index today is well over 100F. 05/25/2011
Very pleased so far I live in a single wide mobile home and my central unit is not working right now. We decided to put this unit in our bedroom to coincide with the other window unit of another brand name in the living room. Let me just say, This one cools my bedroom, bathroom and my whole hallway almost to the living room. It has really impressed me so far. Granted, it's not 100 outside yet, but I feel confident that it will keep us pretty cool still. The noise it makes is not that bad to me. I sleep days so it blocks out outside noise for me.
