Frigidaire's Energy Star 8,000-BTU 115V casement/slider room air conditioner is the perfect solution for cooling rooms with casement windows and horizontal sliding windows up to 350 square feet. This unit is specifically designed for use with casement windows or sliding windows and is not suitable for standard (double-hung) window installation. Ready-select electronic controls allow you to easily select options with the touch of a button. The full-function remote control allows you to precisely control the temperature and fan speed from across the room. The multi-speed fan features three different fan speeds for more cooling flexibility and 4-way air direction control allows you to direct the air where you want it. The antimicrobial mesh filter cleans the air, removing harmful bacteria. Plus, quiet operation keeps you cool without keeping you awake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CCJJ1600 A little pricey but overall a great product. This window unit costs slightly more than I would have liked to have paid. However, it was easy to install, the instructions are clear, and it can cool a fairly large room quickly.This unit has a 'cool' mode, a 'fan only' mode, and an 'energy saver' mode to keep electric costs down. The unit cools to temperatures as low as 60 degrees. Various fan speeds. And the unit includes a timer. Finally, the unit has a remote control to access all of the above named features.To the credit of Wal-Mart the unit was delivered to my apartment earlier than scheduled and only cost ninety-seven cents for home delivery.Great purchase, works well, no complaints about how it operates. 06/21/2011

It has worked great at keeping the entire room cool and even the area at the bottom of the stairs is cooler now because of it. No problems so far (we have had it for 3 weeks). It has been 90 degrees plus most days and it has been keeping up just fine! 07/09/2011
