Rated 5 out of 5 by After Finally being put together it looks great and it works and my 5 kids love it! other than the putting together this is a good swing, today is day number two of it up and running so ,so good so far. It was a pain to put together, the bars barely fit into the other, they were basicailly all the exact same size so it was like tring to fit a size 11 foot into a size 7 shoe.Great product though overall! 02/26/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what we were looking for The assembly took a little longer than was listed on the directions, but it went together quite easily. The directions should have included info about the top rail having an upside down and right side up at the beginning because we had to take out a few bolts about 4-5 steps down the directions. Also that the flanges and legs have a right way and wrong way of being put onto the top rail, and that should be in the directions. Otherwise there were no real problems with assembly. Customer (our grandson) is very satisfied--and that was the point! He is 5 years old. we were VERY happy to see the made in USA on the directions. Very satisfying to us to buy American! 05/09/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by My four year old loves it My four year old daughter loves this swing set. She says it's her favorite thing ever. I like the color and it's big enough for all my daughters friends to play on when they come over. We took the middle swing out and put my sons baby swing on instead which works fine. It was kind of a pain to put together but didn't take too long. Also read all the directions on every bag before you start. We had a really hard time with the steps on the slide and then after we got it all put together found out that there was alternate hardware for it because of the difficulty. 04/04/2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by major parts missing I was very disappointed that a lot of the reviews were true about this product! We had a lot of bolts missing, the glider was completely missing and several of the main poles were shipped with no holes. It took a lot longer to put together because of having to make a lot of trips to the local hardware store for the missing parts...calls made to customer service about the poles that had no holes or were missing had to be left on voicemail.. you do not get to talk to a live person which was disappointing. When I did get a call back, the rep was not over friendly nor apologetic at all for the missing things, this seemed very common to her. Instructions were a nightmare! Overall the swingset doesn't feel real sturdy but should last our three year old at least a few years..... 05/19/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very heavy metal bars. I was very impressed with how sturdy it was. Only took 2 hours to set up. Great product! 07/02/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Swing overall the swing set is nice, took a while to put together and the ladder for the slide was really hard to get the steps on, 4 yr old loves it and so do all the young ones. I actually went and got fully threaded bolts for the slide ladder made things much easier and a bag of bolts was only 98 cents which is nothing compared to the headache we were all getting trying to use the ones that came with the swingset 04/04/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great product, HORRIBLE INSTRUCTIONS and more.. My husband and I have put together many pieces of furniture and other items but this swingset was a pain!! You'd think it should be simple at first glance, but the instructions do not warn you to have certain pieces facing certain ways or on certain ends like it should and so then you are left taking the whole thing apart and starting over and several of the nuts/bolts were the wrong size so i had to make a trip to the hardware store to replace the ones for the ladder and also the glider!!! Once put together and also anchored to the ground, we were thrilled... the kids love it and it works great, nice and strong and will probably last us a long time. But assembling it was definitely a nightmare! 04/23/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great swingset This arrived at my store quickly - 1 week after ordering. My dad put it together mostly on his own with occasional help from others. He filed the ends of the support poles so they fit easily. I saw others had complaints about this but dad had no problems. It comes with anchors so no need to buy them as suggested. It is a great swing set, very sturdy and lots to do and it was well worth the price. We've had it almost 2 weeks now and my kids (ages 6, 3 and 2) want to play on it every day. 04/01/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE IT! This is by far the best product to get for the price! It took a bit over an hour to put together and the kids love it! Some of the holes don't line up unless you have it angled just perfectly which can make it hard but once you find the angle everything fits great! 03/25/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by I would not recommend I ordered this swing set on Friday. It arrived in the store on Wednesday. I was so excited because it arrived so fast. That was the good part of the swingset. Everything went down hill from there. When we opened the box the first pieces we put together the holes did not line up and we had to drill new holes. The instructions were horrbile. There was so many missing nuts and bolts. I would not have been able to get the swing set together by myself. It was a good thing the person that helped me was a mechanic and had a drill and extra bolts because if not the swingset would have had to go back to walmart for a refund. It took us almost 5 hours to put together. 07/02/2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poorly manufactured, unclear instructions Instructions are not detailed enough much time is spent undoing some assembly due to absence of details in the instructions. Predrilled holes in the top bar were incorrect orientation and I had to redrill holes for corner brackets to face downward. Teeter Todder support leg bar was manufactured with the incorrect rotation of the vertical leg after attaching to the upright leg the support leg is at an angle. I had to put in a tubing bender, heat and reshape to work properly. Overall very poor manufacturing of parts. Poor Quality Control on someone's part during the manufacturing of this product. 08/22/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Swing Set to Install The installation was a worst nightmare times three. The directions are vague and the parts/fasteners are not labeled at all. This thing should have taken 90 minutes if each support piece had a label and each screw/nut combo was clearly specified (like an entertainment center or desk usually has). As it stands, it took my wife and I about 6 hours of grueling work (where we had to disconnect and rebuild portions TWICE). We are college educated and we followed the directions. Do not buy this unless you want to waist a full day and then be in a foul mood afterward. On a positive note: the kid liked it. 03/10/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Kids love it! Received the swing set fairly quickly thru Walmart.com site to store. Was somewhat difficult to put together. Parts not marked. We actually put the top cross bar upside down because it is not marked as to which way it needs to go and we didn't realize it mattered until we were way into the assembly. My husband drilled new holes because that was easier than taking it all back apart. Seems to be pretty well made. The kids are enjoying it. The stand up swing is for older kids, say 5 and up it is narrow and easy to slip off of. Also make sure the slide is as far away from the swing set leg as possible. The first time my grandson slid down it was up against the leg and his arm got caught. Luckily I was right there and he didn't get hurt. Over all it is a nice playset for the money. My brother has one that has lasted years (12+) and still looks good. 05/24/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grandchildren Love their new Flexible Flyer Swings We bought this swingset for our 7 grandchildren to play on at our house. They Love it! Our grandkids range in age from 8 thru 2. There is something for all of them. Good Price! 07/26/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kids Love It!!!! For the price of this swing set it's great!! The kids just love it! As far as putting it together though the directions weren't that clear so we had to take it apart and fix it a couple of times. It also came with a few extra parts, I guess that's better than not enough parts it just made putting it together that much more confusing. But it only took a couple of hours and a couple of guys to put it together. Over all it's great and most important the kids are happy and have lots of fun on it!!!!! 06/28/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good deal for price Read the instructions before you begin. The leg with 3 holes goes to the see-saw however, you are not told this until after it's put together. Plan on more than 2 hours and bring lots of patience. I would purchase this swing set again and recommend. I had 8 kids play on it the first day and they loved it. Ages were 2-13. 03/11/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by not at all what I expected for almost 200 dollars The directions were a little confusing when my husband finaly got the main components together the poles did not have holes needed for the seesaw to hook to he had to drill holes. The swings are to high on the lowest setting for the 4 year old and adjustment for the standing swing suggests wrapping the swing around the top pole. The covers for the swing chains are already falling off and its only been up for three days. When my nine year old swings the main support bar bows and the glider litteraly bent under her weight of 80 lbs. yet it is to high off the ground for the 3 and 4 year old to climb on without major help. The slide is the only part that actually all can use and I cannot allow all to swing at the same time. I wouldn't expect a product that after taxes was almost 200 dollars to be this bad. However at this stage we just have to deal with it since it was santa who brought it to the kids and realize we should have put another hundred with it and bought the wooden set. I gave one star because shipping and delivery time was timely and arrived before christmas though we couldn't assemble it till 3 days ago due to the rain. 01/07/2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good price on swing Bought this swing set for our 5 year old grandaughter. Don't have to tell anyone that 160 dollars don't buy much these days. The Swing is good quality for young children. Two children can play on it fine. We had built a wooden swing for our children. But for the time and expence this is a great swing set for the little ones. 10/09/2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by It was much harder to set up than we originally thought but now that it is up it looks great and seems very sturdy! Our daughter loves it and that is really all that matters! 06/23/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by After reading through the reviews about the assembly difficulties, my husband and I were prepared to spend the whole weekend to built this. However, we received this on Monday and my kids couldnt wait til the weekend to play it. So I deceided to perhaps start the assembly this afternoon and see how much I could get through before my husband comes home from work. Surprisingly, I was able to finish most of of it within 3 hours by myself without any difficulties. The only one that I have not done is the seesaw. My husband was really impressed that I did most of it myself. Kids are already enjoying it and they didnt have to wait til weekend. 09/27/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the price! Easy assembly! For $160 AFTER resident shipping, you can't beat this product! I bought this for my 4 year old niece and she loves it! The size is just right for her and can't imagine her outgrowing the set for at least 4-5 more years. I don't understand why people give bad ratings because of their inability to put the swingset together. The description states 1.5-4 hr assembly. I put the entire set together by myself in less than 3 hours. If I had somebody helping me it would have taken less than 2 hrs easy. No the instructions don't explain every single detail, but they were clear enough to get the job completed with very little to no issues. If you have a decent IQ with some common sense, then this should be no problem to assemble. This definitely deserves 5 stars for the price. I'm not sure how much more can be expected for the low price. 03/30/2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by cheap thin metal With 4 boys, oldest being 7 we wanted to have something for them to do outside, so we chose this set for all the activities. Setup was easy, and I re tightened everything (and had 3 bolts shear under not more than about 8ft/lbs of torque) about a week or two later like recommended. Even so, the teeter totter attachment seems as though it didn't fit right. We had to dig a hole to get it to sit level because the post is longer than the height of where it attaches onto the rest of the set. Anyway, after about 2-3 months of use I noticed the whole set was shifting and bending. The top corner brackets had actually bent allowing the whole thing to shimmy side to side. This then caused 2 of the legs to dent and start to bend near the top bracket. It seems like the only way to secure it would be to cement it in, but we don't want to do that. Bottom line, VERY cheap materials, and now it feels like a waste of a fairly substantial amount of money. 08/15/2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Sets okay for the price I read the other reviews before buying for my 3 and 4 year olds. The biggest complaint I read was the vague instructions and cheap hardware. I have to agree. Although the instructions did have a small print note that tells you at the beginning which side of the main bar is up if you aren't reading closely you'll miss it. The instructions do leave out a lot of vital information that matters in the end. Like which leg goes where. If you put the legs on wrong then the support leg for the seesaw ends up sitting at an angle instead of straight under it. We had to take it all apart to fix that. It's best to go slow and look at the picture and think about how those pieces need to be to get to the end. We were missing hardware but that was easily replaced. We put it together slowly over three afternoons. A couple tricks: on the slide steps, it's hard to tighten the nuts because there isn't any room to insert a wrench or plier. Take the flat end of a regular screw drive to keep the nut from turning. A few of the holes had the metal punched out part in the way preventing them from lining up correctly. Stick a screwdriver in those holes and gently bend the metal tabs in, it opens up the holes and allows them to line up. Finally, I wasn't impressed with the hardware. The nuts are designed so that they meet the bolts inside of the bars, I guess to keep the ends from sticking dangerously out the end for kids to scrap on but it's hard to hold pieces together and line up a nut and bolt inside of the bar. Weird. Got it though. It's a cheap set, but you can't get much better for the price. The seesaw seat broke off the first day of use but we bought bigger washer and bolts and fixed it. I don't think it will last more than a few years but right now the girls LOVE it!!! We have had it for a couple months now and they play with it for hours. 04/22/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointed After reading some of the other reviews I decided to get this swing set as a birthday gift for my 4 and 6 year old. First of all the set up wasn't too hard. After less than 1 week of being set up, the main bar that holds the swing set together snapped. The information states that this swing set can hold up to 890 pounds which is obviously incorrect as the 3 of my kids do not even total 190 pounds. My kids were heartbroken when I told them that we could not fix the playset. Luckily Walmart took the swing set back and gave me a full refund. But I will never purchase a metal swing set again. I hope this review helps but I also hope that others don't have the same problem as we did. 03/26/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Be Aware I bought this thinking it would be easy to put up and it would hold up with two 3 year old kids. I was so disappointed. There were parts missing, the see-saw seat broke on its first use, the see-saw hardware did not fit and I had to go to Lowes to buy different sized parts. The flyer would not remain afixed to the top bar and is still unusable. What a waste of money that I could not afford to just throw away. 03/25/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Customer Service! I ordered this swing set for my kids to have on Christmas morning. 5 minutes into the project we realized the top bar was drilled incorrectly! After 4 attempts to Flexible Flyer I still have not heard from them and still do not have the correct part! I'm hoping this is the only problem! 01/10/2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a good buy My daughter's friend worked all night long on Christmas Eve and never had enough time to finish it. The directions were sketchy, and not in a pattern they could follow. Most times they had to be taken apart to put back together again in a special position. Why aren't they written in a 1. 2. 3 pattern? I read earlier reviews and should have listened to them. Holes were not driven in all the way through on the poles. Why is that? So far the friend hasn't been back to finish it. Now we are stuck with a half finished swing set. Great! 01/08/2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Incomplete Swing Set In a few words, the set was incomplete, it's still sitting in the back yard 1/2 way done, there are 3 missing parts that we can't find at the stores, difficult to understand instructions and difficult to assemble. In order to return I have to unassemble and place back in box. 08/01/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice swingset We have had this swingset for about 2 weeks now. Overall I am pleased with it. I have twins that are a year old and a 3 year old. We did temporily replaced 2 of the swing seats that came with it with infant seats. The instructions were a little confusing, according to my husband, so he put it together his "own way". My 3 year is enjoying it very much. This is a good starter set for our little ones. 05/11/2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Overall worth the money This swing set is a good buy for the price. It wasnt terrible putting it together. My husband and I completed it in one afternoon. The only issue was some of the bolts/screws were too small (in our opinion) so my husband ran to the hardware store to get a larger size to make it safer for the kids. Overall, it was ok to put together expecially with our children (and all other kids in the neighborhood) as an audience:) 04/18/2011
