no! this is not made to stand on it's own, although it can be made to stand if need be.

No. We tried propping it up with things when she was on the floor. If it's not going to be where baby can reach it, you might set it on the dresser with a piece of that rubber shelf liner to keep it from sliding.

Not really. It's designed to hang with the straps and it's rounded design would prevent it from being propped up well on a dresser.

Does this soother stand on its own if you put it on top of a dresser?

No. We used this everyday for over a year and changed the batteries once.

I don't think so. I purchased this 3 1/2 years ago. It's currently being used on my second child who is now 1yr. We used this almost nightly and when she figured out how to press the button herself, it gets played over and over again nightly during bed time and daily during nap time. In a three year period, (going through two kids) we had to change the batteries maybe 3 times. Baby #3 will be here soon and he will be using it as well. It's been a great purchase for us.

Yes, the product takes 4 C batteries, but you don't really have to replace them all that often. I'd say we've had to replace ours about 3 times in the 1 1/2 yrs we've had it and that's pretty good, considering it gets a lot of use.

We have had to change the batteries several times, but our daughter uses it every night to go to sleep. When she was younger, we might play it two or three times a night. The batteries lasted for several months given this level of use.

I'm not sure what type of batteries I had in it to begin with but I got this as a gift in 2006 and i think they finally ran out last year. I may have changed them one but I don't remember ever having to. I know if you use the feature where the animals inside move then that will run it down pretty fast. I remember when the batteries were dying it wouldn't work unless i only chose the music feature.

it has a little plastic thing that wraps around the rails near ur child and then attaches to the product itself it is hard to attach but once it is there it does stay.Make sure u put it high enough that when ur child sits up it can see it and touch it.

there are two thick plactic strapes that you put around the rail and attach it back to the soother

Two straps go over the crib side, wrap between the bars, and use a + configuration to attach the strap to the back of the soother. It then has a string at the base to tie around one of the bars.

There are two plastic adjustable straps that go over the top crib rail and a little fabric cord that ties around one of the bars. The plastic straps are a little tough to work, so you won't want to move it often, but once it's on it's great!

There are two plastic straps on the back that go over the crib rail and attach to a button type fixture on the back of the soother. There is also two strings you can use to tie around one of the crip posts. I didn't use the strings, just the straps.

This product is the most used item that I received when my son was born. He is now 17 months old and we continue to use it any time he goes to bed. I bought this for my sister's new baby because it was so great for mine. The babies love the lights, movement, and sound. As toddlers, they can turn it on and off by themselves. It keeps them entertained when they wake up and helps them fall asleep with ease.

A Sanity Saver!

I would recommend this product to ALL parents of an infant or toddler. It has several different settings for volume, music, nature sounds, lights, and water sounds that you and/or baby can adjust. It also has one large easy-to-use button for turning it on and off that baby can figure out and use very quickly.

The ONLY thing I would change about this product would be to add a remote that parents could use from the doorway of the child's room to turn the music back on so you wouldn't have to walk back into the room and disturb the child.

Our son was very colicky and was a very poor sleeper. We tried multiple products that promised to soothe babies and help them sleep, but none of them worked. My husband and I finally discovered the Fisher-Price - Rainforest Waterfall Soother one day when we were at Walmart when our son was about 6 months old. We thought at such a good price it was worth it to try, because we were both desperate for sleep. It really did help him relax and go to sleep more easily on many occasions. Of course, he was still a poor sleeper, but this product helped decrease his crying and waking quite a bit.

Within a few months, he learned to push the button on his own and we'd hear him wake up in the middle of the night or during a nap, turn on the music, and go back to sleep! Almost every morning, he likes to lay in bed and listen to his music and watch the animals and lights before he gets up. In fact, if you try to get him up before he's had time to listen to his music, he refuses, LOL! He'll even turn the music on during the day when he's just playing in his room.

Our son is now 22 months old and today we put him down for a nap in his toddler bed for the first time. We were sure to attach his soother to the bed and he fell right to sleep with no problems at all.

Interesting to look at.....

My son uses this toy to fall asleep EVERY NIGHT! He loves this thing. I've found myself needing to hear it now to haha! We take it everywhere with us. Too bad it did not have a smaller travel size:) I would buy this product over and over again.

AWESOME PRODUCT

My son loves this and is in awe every time he watches and listens to it. It is extremely soothing as well. When I notice him getting tired around his bedtime, I bring him into his room, turn the lights out and push the play button. He stares at it for about a minute and then I put him in his crib. I slowly walk out of the room and by the time the music is done, he is out like a light. I love this product because it is easy to associate it with "bedtime" because it is so soothing. It is even useful when you're just trying to get a few things done and want to entertain your baby for a few minites. I set him in his crib, and he will just listen to the music.

I am a big fan of soothers. My first son loved his, so with our second son I knew I had to get another one. I like the different settings. I do wish that there was a separate button to adjust the time duration, because the settings of what type of music and light displays effect the time length. Other then that I like this product.
