Many customers complain that handle doesn't stay upright. But if you're creative, it's a simple and quick fix. Just wedge a small piece of plastic between the red and green hinge on the mower and tighten it with the screws that come with it and a philips head.

My son got this for his first birthday. So far he hasn't had much use for it except to occasionally look at the gizmos on the bottom of it. What I don't like is that the handle doesn't stay upright on its own, requiring the baby to be able to squat to the floor to pick up the handle and stand on his own. So the baby has to have good balance and walking skills to use it. It is also very loud. Maybe in a few months he will be able to use it. I just think they could have put some more thought into the design.

This was bought for my son on his 1st birthday. This toy so very loud, it is rediculous. I only allow my son to play with it outside! The part of the toy that is loud is the balls that pop on the inside when the toy is being pushed. It is so loud that you cannot hear the music or what the toy is teaching!

This is a disappointing toy. My son got it as a gift when he was just a little less than a year. He wasn't stable on his feet yet so having a toy that you have to squat down in order to pick up the handle that cannot stay in an upright position wasn't fun for him. The handle is very flimsy, so if you push down on it the mower flips around - not good for the unstable walker. Once he could walk better, there were much better toys for him and he again had no interest in an extremely loud toy with not much educational value. It's just a loud popping noise or some music or mower sounds. He's now over a year and a half and still doesn't care about it. It's now collecting dust in the basement waiting for a garage sale.

Received 2 of these for my daughter's 1st birthday, we kept the pink one. She was just starting to walk, but that didn't keep her from enjoying this toy. She played with everything on it and would sit and push it back and forth. As she learned to walk better she started walking around pushing it. Yes, the handle doesn't stay up, it's not for a child who needs to support themselves on a toy to walk, but if you work with them and give them time, they will learn to walk and push this around. It is a little noisy, ok a lot noisy, we weren't prepared for how noisy, but our daughter loves it and that's what matters. It's keep her attention, makes her laugh, easy to clean and has held up just fine for 6 months and I see it lasting a long time.

My son LOVES this toy, it's made well. It does take batteries which you don't really need. The sounds are cute but the balls are so loud you can't hardly hear them. It would be better if you could turn off the balls or they didn't have them at all or at least they were quiet. During the day when no one is home i let him play with it, But when everyone gets home i have to take it away. It annoys the entire family. He doesn't even care there are balls inside so i took them out. NOW it's great! lol I just opened the bottom and they came right out after like 8 screws. now it's perfect. I started playing with it when he was about 14mo. when he was walking well enough to do other things while walking.

My son LOVES this mower. However after getting it out of the package and he started playing with it, we found out how annoyingly loud the balls in it were. It was fine for outside but too noisy inside. If you are any bit mechanically inclined you can take the screws out of the bottom and remove the balls, which makes this toy INCREDIBLE for play inside. If one was to want balls in it without as much noise, I bet the little rubber "Super Balls" would be a great substitute for the hard plastic ones that it comes with. As far as the handle not staying up I believe this toy is better suited for a child who can already walk as opposed to a walking aid for children who cannot walk quite yet.

Terrible for beginning walkers

This mower is terrible for babies just learning how to walk. I bought this for my daughter, and she gets frustrated. The handle doesn't stay up on its own; the child has to have good enough balance and coordination to hold it up while walking. Even if your child is an advanced walker, the balls inside the mower frequently get stuck, so the don't "pop" and makes it so the wheels get stuck. The lyrics to the songs are also quite lacking--they didn't put in much effort there. I would not recommend this to anyone.
