Thus far I have purchased 2 of them with problems and returned both.The first one had shipping damage. The manufacturer does not secure the shelf prior to shipping. That carpeted shelf smashed into the plastic hooks on the door, destroying one of them and it damaged the battery door so it could not be secured.The second unit had a problem with codes. Neither the factory programmed code nor any code I programmed into it would unlock the safe. I had to use the emergency key every time to open the door.My recommendation is beware that you are getting a cheaply made product. The value seems good, but it's a high risk item. 11/16/2007

Had purchased a secure lock box for medicines and important papers- "box" was good (metal), however the lock handle was plastice and my 6 year old was able to break it and open it after a few minutes (purchased from home improvement store for $80). Decided to get a more secure device and decided on this one. I debated on this one and one that was over $100 more (for fire and water protection- next one will be this for more important files and weapons). Both loked that had the same specs except theo other had more insulation and seals- just as secure. Very happy with this choice- VERY secure!! 01/21/2013
