Great for the price. Now go look at the price. Gave it to my kid because he has shown interest in guitar. Lots of give in the strings making it easier to press on frets which encourages beginners to play longer. However, the plastic caps for the keys did not fit and affected the look because they stuck out. Despite being banged around a lot, the neck is still good. Does not sound good out of the box after tuning-with an expert playing it. This guitar is for learning but the child should be moved up to a quality guitar as soon as possible. Investing in one will help your child in school and life and the sound would be beautiful (think xylophone vs grand piano). Buying this is a good way to see if your kid is really interested in learning, which takes work. If its a gift, then great gift! Let the parent worry about strings and caps and the kid ignoring it if they arent interested. Do not give to anyone over 12, despite the suggested age. A normal sized guitar would be necessary for someone older than that, and Walmart sells those pretty cheap too. 12/09/2011
