Advertised as being able to shred 8 sheets. Maybe 8 sheets of toilet paper but definitely not notebook paper. It will shred 4 sheets one time with the motor straining very loudly and then it trips the overload protection and has to cool off for 30-45 minutes before it can be used again. This is the first time I've ever written a review on any product but I've come to realize that getting the word out about products that are untruthfully labeled are the only means we have of holding corporations accountable.

Jams up frequently. opening for paper is narrow - will take 2-3 sheets. Bin fills up quickly...must move motor off container that is not on wheels.. to empty....this is a major production -I keep shredder on a rolling cart, close to my desk. Has just jammed up again....with one sheet of paper. Perhaps the more efficient units are with the higher security levels... it looks solid....and sounds solid....but is disappointing.

Bought this shredder because on the box it looked identical to the Fellowes I had for over 5 years before it finally died. Unfortunately, the only similarities are the looks. The paper bin is significantly smaller, and the motor very cheap sounding and noisy. The safety switch which disables the machine is a good feature, however. I'll be returning this one, but stick with Fellows on a higher quality (and more expensive) machine.

Says it will shred 8 sheets, not even good with 5. Jammed up constantly. Poor quality for the money.

The container is too small for a large amount of paper. The process is slow because you must empty continously and you cannot separate the shredder itself from the container.......the shredder itself works great, but would be nice if it could be used over a garbage can

  • A. Credit cards for sure... There is nothing about disks in instructions nor have I tried it. My opinion I don't think it is meant for it...you will be successful but probably take away some life from the shredder.

  • A. The red light indicates that the motor has overheated. My experience is that the shredder shuts down to protect it from any damage. After turning the power off for about 15 minutes to allow the machine to cool down, it resumed normal operation.
