Feline Pine Scoopable Cat Litter, 4.1lb 3.6 5 10 12
YUCK! It doesn't control odors, its not scoopable, and it makes a HUGE mess! I tried to scoop it with my scooper and the shavings would not go through. Someone suggested a different kind of scooper (see other reviews) and that may work, but even then there are other cons. Though I do like the scent, it didn't control the ammonia odor and I had to dump it within three days because I could not stand the smell. My cats do track litter throughout the house, but this was even WORSE. I had shavings all over my bed and unlike commercial litters where you can just dust it off the bed, couch, whatever, this litter is quite stubborn and I had to take my sheet off my bed and fluff it, and even after that there were still some behind. It wasn't until I washed it that they all came off.Now the pros. You get a LOT of litter for a VERY good price, and it is VERY light (one of the reasons I bought it, who doesn't love carrying 5 lbs compared to 20-35?!) I don't remember if there was a dust cloud when I dumped it, but I don't think there was. I like the pine scent, as said above, but again it doesn't control odors.Maybe this would be better for someone who keeps their cat, and cat litter box, in the basement/garage... 12/14/2011
I can not find this product except at Walmart.com and it is the only cat litter my cats will use 05/09/2012
Wonderful product We are all what we eat, including cats licking chemically infused and clumping kitty litter that can poison them, and turn into little cement balls in their bellies. This product is fantastic: all natural pine, fine like sawdust so it does track a bit coming out of the box (easily solved by an old towel place there), clumps great, great at smell control - even though I only clean out the kitty litter clumps and poops every other day, I have never had any odor problem. It is a clean, safe and reasonably priced product, great for you cat's health. I start each month by cleaning out the old kitty litter and rinsing out the box, lettiong it dry and pouring in 1/3 of the box of pine. In the middle of the month, I add 1/3 more pine, and so on and the box lasts one full month if you only have one cat. 04/30/2012
value for your money If you expect this litter to be hard clumps like clay litter, you surely will be disappointed. But you have to remember that this is made of wood && is much healthier for your cat. Like the box says, whatever is stuck on their feet or fur, etc. they will eat. && I would rather have my cat eating natural wood versus clay && chemicals. Now, with that being said, this is the best litter I have ever tried. With my cat, when he was a kitten, I couldn't use a clumping litter because it would get stuck to his feet quite often. So I had to use regular clay litter that doesn't clump && omg, the smell was horrible. Finally when I could use clumping litter as he got older, I switched to the clay clumping one && although I kept up with it, the ammonia was still pretty bad after only days. That is what made me turn to this one. True, it doesn't control odor like the chemical litters but if you keep up with it, in my opinion, you can help reduce the odor. But the odor doesn't smell that bad. It smells like wood. No strong ammonia if you keep up with it, like I said earlier. I tried Mimi crystalized litter (or whatever its called) && I find it to be worse than this brand. With Mimi, it controls odor but while cleaning the litter box, the ammonia was just as bad as the other cl.ay brands. Feline Pine doesn't have dust either, so that's another plus. && the value for your money is undeniable. With other brands, I would go through twice as much litter. This one box will last much longer && its cheap. The down side with this litter, the mess my cat tracks around. I'm guessing its easier to track along my rug because its light?? But its nothing my vacuum can't clean up. Other than that, I would recommend this to my friends && family because this takes your dollar pretty far if you're willing to put up with a few downsides. Remember, this is much healthier for your cat && if you love your cat the way that I love mine, then the few flaws is worth it for his health. 04/10/2012
