Fallout 3: Game of the Year (PS3) 3.8 5 9 10
Awesome Its to be expected of the creators of elder scrolls oblivion, bethesda, that they would make another great master piece of a game. Fallout 3 when it first came out was pritty much labeled as awesome from people like us to tv shows and magazines. I personally loved just the freerome aspect of the game. Adding in its really currently the only shooter that really allows you to do that (untill borderlands comes out and fallout new vegas).The addition of the five expansions packs (now FINALLY added) Is a great and LONG awaited edition to the ps3 edition who have been denied the add ons for a long time now. New and old buyers for this will love it. 09/29/2009
Awesome game marred by glitches Make no mistake, Fallout 3 is a hot game, one of the hottest of this decade! It is the perfect combination of Role Playing Game and First Person Shooter that provides hours of fun for such a low cost. The action, suspense, character development, choices, and above all, the carnage, are spectacular.But the GOTY is a real disappointment. We PS3 owners had to wait 6 extra months for this content because of "extensive testing and bug fixing." Well somehow all the bugs got left in and many more added. I played the FO3 original version and only had a few freeze ups. GOTY is PAINFUL. Frame rates frequently (like every couple minutes) drop to like 1 frame a second. The game freezes up for seconds at a time and several times an hour I was power cycling my PS3 console because of a hard freeze. This is terrible for the console! It became so frustrating, I had to shelve this game and await a patch.Unfortunately, Bethesda Softworks has not acknowledged these problems now more than a month after launch despite all the angry PS3 gamers on the various forums including Bethsoft's own forum. There is speculation they are "moving on" with the next game and not sinking anything more into this one.My advice is do NOT buy this game until a patch is at least announced. Save yourself the frustration. This game should get 5 stars across the board but I believe a game should be playable to receive any stars. This is broken software. Buyer Beware! 11/16/2009
The game is great. I wouldn't worry too much about the previous review about the glitch because the same thing would happen to me even when i was playing the original version of the game without the add ons. It would temporarily freeze but resume normally. Never had a problem with my hard drive either. The only thing you'll have to do is if you have game data utility from the first version delete it from your hardrive because the new version will download new game data, but your save data will still work, and the initial load of your game will take some time because the system has to load all the extra missions. I was worried at first, but just be patient. It's worth it. 10/22/2009
Best Value This game of the year edition contains all five expansion packs. This is an amazing value for what would cost you hundreds of dollars to download. Also this is an amazing game that I believe every gamer should at least try out. If you love RPGs you will love this game. 10/26/2009
