8.5 inches wide, 9.5 inches front to back.

Oval hole measures 8-1/2 wide by 9-1/2 long.

There seems to be a little leeway in the fitting so that it will fit various toilets, but when tightened, there is no movement.

What are the dimensions of the oval hole in the middle?

Mine says it&#39;s made in China, not the US.

The actual seat dimensions are 14-1/2 wide and 15-1/4 long, the lid is slightly smaller of course. These measurements do not include the hinge assembly on the back.

As for the new hardware mentioned so screws fit- what do I look for? Dimensions?

This was the easiest and quickest new seat I have ever installed. It took longer to remove the old one than to install the new one. It fits the toilet perfectly and seems to be well made.

Best buy for the bucks!

This is a solid and sturdy seat and very comfortable. The installation was easy. Each bolt slides into a groove that holds it tight. The seat does not slide around; it stays where you install it. I love that feature. The finish is smooth and shiny, easy to clean. I would recommend it to anyone.

Exceeds expectations for function and value.

Would have gave it 5 stars, but the seat came with scratches, and a glob of spilled enamel hardened bump on the lid. Besides that really good quality seat.

Great product at an excellent price.

I ordered the seat online and I waited longer than usual for it to arrive at the store, but it was worth the wait. The seat is pretty heavy but that's what I like about it. It definitely was a good choice for me and my family.I also loved how inexpensive it was.

Great quality

This product was good, sturdy, and seems like it will last a long time. The hinges are made of plastic and it seems this is the part that gives out the quickest. But the biggest problem I had was that the covers that snap down on the plastic bolts will not fit over the bolts that it came with. The bolts off of the old one are to small. I am going to end up making a trip to the hardware store to get some that fit. Once it is installed its to much of a problem taking it of and explain the minor problem to a stranger in front of strangers. And be asked if you used it.

This product was good with only one problem

This is the second toilet seat in a little over than a year. When I opened it I noticed that two screws were missing. I was going to return it but, since I got it for nine dollars it wasn't worth it. My son said he could take screws from old seat and use them. One was fine but the second one the hole was too big so he filled it with something and screwed it in. It worked!

not what I expected.

The toilet seat itself is not defective.  However, the hardware--the bolt is not correct for the toilet seat hole.  The nut included in the shipment is a plastic nut and washer combo that is manufactured together.   The washer part of the piece has a radius that it too large.  The head on the bolt is too high.  It is about 2-3 mm higher than the cap.  Because of these 2 design defects, the cap that snaps over the hinge cannot close.  I have to use the bolt and washer from a difference toilet seat to work around this design defect because I ordered the item online and could not get to a physical store to return this defectively designed product.

Mismatched hardware--design defect

the ad stated size @ 17.25 inches long and 14.5 inches wide / actual size is 15.5 long and 14.5 wide... wouldnt fit my toilet.
