    Does it require tools?

    • All you need is a screwdriver for when you secure the hanging rods.

    • no wrench. You need a philips head screw driver to anchor the bars. Otherwise everything snaps together

    • You need a Phillips screwdriver, but that's it.

    • Just a screw driver to screen the racks on. Everything else is clamped and slides on.

    • Yea the only thing you need is a screwdiver, so if you order today you have about 5 days to look for a screwdiver. If you have someone let you borrow their wrench is much faster.

    • The shelves go together without any tools. I used a screwdriver to tighten the screws holding the rods, and you will need a screwdriver or drill to attach the straps to the wall to keep it from falling over, recommended. Otherwise putting it together is a piece of cake. Just make sure you do the lower shelves completely before you try to do the upper ones, because they won't slide down past the plastic doodads that hold them in place.

    • This unit is REALLY easy to put together. MOST of it is simply snap and fit. At the very end there are 4 screws that hold the bars on, and you will need a phillips head for those. For safety there are wall straps that require 4 screws each, but I know a lot of people don't use those.

    • no, it doesn't. We used a hammer to push the shelves down more, but it wasn't necessary.

    • Yes, I didn't put the bottom rod in so I could put my dresser in the middle. The top pole is just high enough to hang my clothes and not touch the dresser.

    • I suppose if you don't have much to hang you don't have to assemble it with the second rod.

    • yes I did this on one of my units for longer coats and other items you can also put the hanging bar at different heights on the sides of the shelving units
      by honey87213/29/2011
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • The bottom pole serves also as a support. However, you can position the poles at almost any position between the front and back of the shelving. You could modify so the bottom pole serves primarily as a brace by putting it in the furthest back position to hang long clothing, but I recommend installing it for bracing.

    • Yes, but be careful as to not overload the top rod, as it's easy to reach the weight limit quickly... also, unless you load the sides with heavier items, I would think that the unit might close in on itself as it uses gravity to stay upright for the most part

    • Yes. I bought two. With one I used both racks, with the other I used just the top rack so I could hang dresses, etc.

    • Yea, you can only use the top pole if you want to, but maybe you want to place it at the begining, so it can be at the bottom. So you won't miss place the other pole in case you need it later on.

my floor slopes due to a drain in the middle of it. Is this unit adjustable to this issue?
    by an anonymous customer 5/15/2011
    • There are little adjustable screw-in "leveling" feet on the bottom that can be adjusted somewhat. But with a "slope" you may have to be creative and put something under them to make the feet themselves level.

    • Each of the 8 legs of the unit come with screw-on discs to adjust for minor floor slopes. I think they could handle a drain.

      by KKJD8/21/2011
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • I don't think the unit is adjustable to help you with this issue but you can create your own leveler with a piece of tile, stone, or anything sturdy to wedge the lower slope into balancing the closet.

Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • Yes, the bases screw into the closet at the bottom. So you can lower one end more than others, making it perfect for non-level floors.

    • All of the feet (8 total) are adjustable/have levelers in the bottom. Looks like you can adjust about 1-1.5 inches with each foot to hopefully adjust around the drain.
