I purchased this bike after returning another one that was very loud and hard to pedal. I love it, very smooth and quiet and wow what a space saver. I rode it the for the first time and did 14 miles very easy on the hips and knees (I have bad knees and was concerned). the seat is large and comfortable also. I do ride a mountain bike during the summer months and wanted to keep myself in shape over the winter so this was an excellent purchase for me. I have sons that are now riding it every other day. they are over 200lbs the weight limit is 300 and it is very well built.

excellent construction and value with one defect..

    Customer review by Gawrledcrump

    5.0 stars by Gawrledcrump

Very good feel and construction. Smooth and comfortable in use. Very good adjustable magnetic load. Very quiet and stable. Basically very well made at an excellent price. The defect is in the computer module. The two AA batteries become very low and the display is unreadable after the batteries were installed about twenty-four hours. After this happened with three sets of batteries, I simply removed the batteries after each use; and, installed them immediately before the next session. This results in the loss of the cumulative odometer function -- it resets to zero when the batteries are removed. This is not detrimental to its function, just an inconvenience to remove and reinstall the batteries for each use. I have not yet contacted the importer about the problem.

I mean, holey moley, people! It is under $200! I don't think I am overstating it when I say this thing has changed my life. I am almost 54 and I found myself getting up earlier so I could WATCH MORE TV. I realized something had to change. After much thought I decided to try a fold-up stationary bike. My expectations were low, granted, but I could not be more pleased with this thing. It is great to ride and this thing folds up like no one's business. (I live in New York City so it was very important that this thing not take over our 1 bedroom apartment.) Long story short > Buy this.

    • I too am 5'3'' with shorter legs and I have a difficult time reaching the pedals with ease. I have to sit on the very front to reach the pedals and my seat is all the way down.

Does this product come with any warranty or coverage? I would really like to know before I buy it!
    by kriss8 1/16/2012
    • Here is what the owner's manual says for warranty: "Paradigm's obligation under this warranty is limited to replacing free of charge, any parts which may prove to be defective under normal home use. This warranty does not include any damage caused by improper operation, misuse or commercial application. From the date of purchase, the product is warranted to be free from defects for 1 (one) year. All parts and workmanshipo, including upholstery, foam, ball bearings, pulleys, cables, shocks, all tension mechanisms, wheels, pedals and hardware are to be free from defects for 90 days. This warranty is offered only to the original owner and is not transferable. Proof of purchase is required. This warranty is offered only to the original owner and is not transferable." It would seem that they want to emphasize the original owner part. After reading it I'm not sure if the warranty is 90 days or 1 year.

    • I think this would be do-able but not comfortable for a long period of time. This is NOT a suitable substitute for an indoor bicycle trainer - i.e. you want to use YOUR bike for exercise. (That's what those devices are made for that allow this...) This is just a good cardiovascular workout device that will work the same major muscle groups as a bicycle. I've mentioned to my wife that even if she is faithful in using this she may notice some differences in muscles used when she gets on our tandem bicycle this summer. (She'll be more forward over her pedals on that - though she seldom if ever stands to pedal on the tandem so that isn't an issue for us.)
