    Great basic bike!

    Customer review by DrNat6

    5.0 stars by DrNat6

I have been cycling for years at Lifetime Fitness, but wanted a bike to have at home. I really enjoy using this bike, it is quiet and smooth and comfortable (I bought a different seat to use, I would recommend that as the one that comes with it has zero padding). It is a bit rocky when I stand, but I spend most of the time in the saddle so it is not a problem. Set up took about an hour, not too complicated. I like the monitor that comes with it, it is very basic but has everything I need on the display. The only negative was that the chain guard was cracked when I received it; however I read on many reviews for many bikes that it is a common occurrence with shipping. I am pleased with this bike for overall value for the cost!

    Great Bike all around

    Customer review by ngtsky1

    5.0 stars by ngtsky1

I'm an avid Road Cyclist logging 5,000+ miles every year on my road bike. But there are days when the weather is bad or during the Winter when it's just to cold to ride outdoors. I used to mount my bike on a trainer, but it's a hassle and wears my back tire out fast. I looked around for a good quality indoor Spin / training bike that would give me the road bike feel. After Internet research I found this bike. It had all the features that I was looking for and the price was dead on for what I wanted to spend. I ordered it, and it arrived in about a week. It was packaged well, but it did suffer a cracked plastic end cap on the base that the manufacturer replaced free. Everything else was perfect. Easy to put together, built very well you can stand and pedal or do fast sprints and the bike never wobbles or moves. You get a nice firm solid feel when you riding it. Some would say the saddle is uncomfortable, but it feels just fine to me because that's what I ride. When your peddling the bike is very smooth and quiet. The 40LB wheel makes it feel great. This bike looks SHARP! It looks like it cost a lot more than it does and performs well above the price point. Some of my Cycling friends say I'm lying to them about the price. The pedals were nice but I didn't use them because I mounted road pedals that I clip into on the bike instead so I could use my road shoes. But if you want to use the pedals that come with it they are good quality as well. The computer is a very nice touch, and it seems accurate accept for the pulse. But I have never seem any equipment even in my local Gym that gives an accurate reading on this. Also, that's another thing that don't bother me because I wear a Heart Rate monitor with a chest strap when I'm riding, but all other functions are perfect. I really like the handlebars on this I can get the same feel as my road bike bars, or get into that time trial position. I put some elbow pads on for extra comfort that I had, but you don't need them. To sum it all up, I'm glad I purchased this bike. I would recommend it to any one with out hesitation. It's made well, sturdy and gives you a feeling you got a much higher quality bike for the price. I love mine. So whether your a regular Cyclist or some one looking to get into shape this is a great bike. Also I'm 5 foot 8 178 and the bike is the perfect size for me.

I am a beginner cyclist and my husband is an expert cyclist. Both of us love this bike. Very easy to change tension on bike. He gets onto bike easily. I have to use a step stool to get onto and off bike, but once I am on it I love to use it. Great bike for the price!

can you add resistance? how well is the workout with no resistance?
    by cj
    • Yes you can add resistance & also get a good workout with none. I use my Gymboss & do intervals. Love it.

    • Yes the resistance can be added, it operates like riding a bike and going up hill so you caan add as little or as much resistance as your would like.

    • Yes. You can adjust the resistance. Not much of a workout without resistance but it is better than sitting on the couch.

    • Just tighten down the knob on the frame below the handlebars for however much tension you want against the wheel. No tension no workout.

    • Yes resistance is adjustable , no resistance isn't much of a workout

    • You can adjust the brake knob for extra resistance...it's really good at normal, the heavy flywheel makes for a good ride, you can definately feel the extra resistance with a little turn of the knob tho. :)

    • The Exerpeutic Brake Knob is useful for resistance but of course I consider myself - light weight-. My personal trainer uses the brake knob for up hill climb and then releases the tension for long term endurance. Hope this is helpful. Vagamundo

    • Yes, you can add resistance and without it, it's the same as pedaling a bicycle down hill.

    • You'll need 21 inches width by 45 inches long sized space (this is the actual floor space mine takes up)... plus height of course. It's a pretty sleek looking bike, the blue accent is cheerful and not overpowering. :)

    • It is smaller than a spin cycle at a gym, but it would depend on the size of the space you want to put it in.

    • Lisa, not big or bulky at all. If you look at the picture of the man on the bike, that is your area that it covers. These bikes are very stable, with a small footprint and has small wheels on the bottom footing to move it. You just lift the bike from the backside and roll it where you need it, so you can move it out of the way. It is very heavy to pick the entire unit up at once, so don't try it, but if you lift it from the back and put the weight on the small wheels (located on the front foot, under the big wheel) to move it, it keeps all the weight of the bike on the floor and is balanced when you move it to a different spot. Hope this helps.

    • To help you with this question, the set up dimensions are 47"L ( front to back) x 20"W x 49"H, so with these dimensions you should get an idea of how big this Exerpeutic bike is.
