For the price, this treadmill was easy to put together (20 mins. tops). This is my 1st treadmill. Did thorough research because I'm very active. Thought it was for the elderly at 1st. Though it says walking treadmill, on high, you have to jog. The display is easy to read. The treadmill speed is in tenths increment for gradual speed change. The frame is very sturdy. This is one of the only treadmills with a a 5yr warranty on the motor and 1yr on the frame. I've only had the treadmill two days; went to walmart.com to double check warranty, they were sold out! The long handles are great. Controls are located on the handle also. For the price, construction, assembly time, and warranty....great buy. If it breaks after warranty, I'll buy another one. The only downside, the box is big and heavy (123 lbs). Need two men to lift from store and a truck. Won't fit , even in a large car. Once home, assembled by myself.

This treadmill is much better then I ever expected for the price. I saved for months and needed a treadmill I could get started on. This is perfect. I'm 5 feet even and weigh 230 and I fit perfect on this treadmill. It's wide enough and long enough and takes up so little room when folded up and when using. The control isn't this huge panel blocking out my view like all the other, more expensive models. The controls on the handle bars is a god send when I'm walking. But the most impresive thing is how quiet this thing runs. I remember my old Sears from years ago making as much noise as my washing machine. This thing is so quiet, I don't have to adjust my volumn on the tv at all and I can hear the whole family if they need my attention. I think this should be on every showroom floor at every Walmart, not hidden just online. The ones in the stores have the huge control panel and cost much more and are just huge overall and cumbersome looking. This was money well spent.

I've only had this treadmill for about 3 weeks, but I have to say it was a great investment. I was concerned about whether it would work well for someone my size and it definitely has. I wasn't sure if I would be able to fit between the long arms, but there is plenty of room (I'm about 335 pounds and 5'6), the walking surface is long enough to make walking comfortable (I wasn't sure because it looks rather short online). This treadmill is well built and worth the money. I would most definitely recommend this treadmill!

I WANT TO KNOW IF YOU CAN WALK WIHTOUT HOLDING ON TO RAILS IF YOUARE PLUS SIZE LIKE 325 AND YOU WANT TO WALK FOR 1 HOUR NORMALLY WITHOUT HANGING ON TO ANYTHING? WILL THE BELT STILL MOVE OR STOP WITH YOUR TOTAL WEIGHT ON IT?
    by handicapone
    • The treadmill accomodates ups to 400 pound. You can walk without holding onto the rails - no problem. The belt will still move if you are not holding onto the rails.

    • My husband and I walk on it and you can hold on if you like. The arms on it are rather long so if they get in the way you will need to hold on till you feel comfortable on the treadmill. I would suggest using them for safety reason as in the instructions included with the product.

    • I usually hold on because I have balance issues. But I've used it without holding on and the belt moved just fine...and I'm over 325lbs.

    • The belt works just fine with your full weight. I am 343 lbs. The handles might be in the way for walking normally. They are about arm width.

    • Good Questions... You can walk on the treadmill without holding on to the safety handles... The handles are there to provide security and and balance if needed.... The treadmill and the motor has been tested up to 350lbs... It has a "High Torque" motor so any resistance applied to the belt will increase the power of the motor... We designed this treadmill for larger users...

details of how to go about that and tell me if I can use my own power to walk at a slower pace? I had a stroke in Oct of 2008 and therefore walk very slowly.
    by an anonymous customer
    • the speed starts at 0, that means you can go very slow. 0, to 1, to 2 ect. its not set at a certain speed. you adjust it. good luck.

    • This treadmill will go as slow as 0.1 mph (Barely Moving). This would be perfect for you.

    • The slowest speed is .4 mph which is pretty slow -its about one step every 2 seconds. You can't move the tread without turning it on. It automatically starts at .4 mph when you start it.

    • I just checked this out on my Exerpeutic 350 (which looks like the 1010 model I bought on Walmart's website, but I don't see that model # in my user manual). The lowest belt speed on mine is 0.4 mph and there does not appear to be a way to make it slower. At 0.4 mph there is a full 2 seconds between steps. For example, if I lead with my right foot, from the time my right foot touches the belt (and begins to move backward) my left foot has exacly 2 seconds to come forward and touchdown on the belt in readiness for the next step. Hope that's helpful.

    • This machine starts out at .1 miles per hour and goes up to 4.0 at the highest. Great for a slow walk to a brisk walk or a slow run.
      by MAmatwotwo

    • The speed of the treadmill is calibrated in 1/10's of a MPH which is a very very gradual speed adjustment. It would be very difficult to go slower than 1/10th of a MPH. It was designed for users like yourself who want to be able to walk at virtually any pace...This is better than maunual treadmills which can be very difficult to use when there is no motor involved. So the speed range of the Exerpeutic 350 is 1/10 of a MPH up to 4 MPH... This treadmill should work very well for you and your situation
