The pull-up bar was very easy to install and it was delivered within days of ordering. Of course, I can only do about one pull-up so far but in time- I got it to go along with P90X... if you can't do pull-ups, the bar is great, you can just throw an exercise band around it and stand back then lean forward or kneel and use the band to imitate a pull-up action. You can do this until you really have the strength to do the pull ups.

this product is good very easy to install i didnt need to read the instructions. you dont need a drill just hammer a nail in the wall half way and pull it out that way you have a hole to screw the screws in and i used my own shorter screws because theirs were really tough to get into the wall. its very sturdy and strong i weigh 223lbs and it supports me! the foam pad did move to the center 4 me when you just use a lil effort it will adjust to the center so i fully recommend this product!

I ordered this chin up bar for my daughter for her 10th birthday. She trains for gymnastics and really enjoys her chin up bar. It was reasonably easy to assemble and I was relieved to see it could be set up in a way that her bedroom door can still be shut. She uses the chin up bar daily and it works great! While she is tiny, a few bigger adults also tried it out and it held up fine. I think this product was a good value and lived up to the advertised expectations- I would recommend it.

  • there are two "cups" that screw into the frame. you then unscrew the bar in insert it into those cups.

  • Unfortunately the holders have to be screwed into the door frame. Then the bar extends into the holders; you probably won't be able to find anything that just extends without being screwed in. It won't be secure enough and therefore will be worthless.

  • You have to permanently screw the two cups into the wall on either side. The bar can then be expanded into the cups and back out again.

  • you have to screw the holders at the sides into the wall or door frame. Then the bar will twist in and out of the holders.

  • You screw holders into the wall, then extend into, and out of holders

  • Yes, for proper installation and safety, you need to mount the brackets per the instructions.

  • Yes, you have to screw it into the wall with a screw gun. It does extend and unextend, but there are "end pieces" that are screwed into the wall.

  • You screw the base into the door frame. The bar itself extends or contracts by twisting one side. It takes a couple of seconds to adjust and remove and install again.

  • could be installed in a hallway i would think. but only if it is a narrow hallway and one that you could screw into some wood. if it's just drywall, it would rip out the moment you put any weight on it.

  • you may need to use longer screws if not used in a wood frame, in order to make it past drywall, but I'm sure it could be easily installed in open doorway

  • It can be installed into a doorway as long as the sides are solid and can have screws put in to it.

  • You could install it in an open door way just fine. Make sure you screw it into a stud, not just drywall so that it can support the weight...

  • I would make sure that the entrance has a wall stud (2x4 or 4x4). Most entrances have to have a strong support. You can get a stud finder from local hardware store if not sure.

  • Door frame would be best.. I believe over time it would rip out.

  • I mounted it in a doorway without a frame and it works well. I would not mount it to drywall only, there should be wood behind the drywall to hold the screws.

  • no you cannot move it easily or on daily basis. that is, unless you have another set of metal "cups" to install in the other location (either the chin-up location, or sit up location). otherwise you'd be unscrewing the metal "cups"/supports every time.

  • Yes you can move it easily on a daily basis.

  • Yes. Retracting and reextending the bar takes a total of about 30 seconds of twisting. The rod is threaded along its entire length, but getting it into and out of the cups only requires a travel distance of a couple of cm.

  • fairly easily . . I envisioned it working sort of like a toilet roll holder, but it's not quite that easy. It needs to be twisted and untwisted, but it won't take long.

  • very easy, takes less than a minute
    by ubetchajohnson3/7/2011

  • Yes. You get two receiving bases with the kit. One you install to do pullups, the other base to do situps. Once the bases are installed, it takes only a few seconds to adjust the bar to remove and re-install.
    by str8upoldskool6/25/2012

  • Yes, just twist the pole until it is short, remove it from the first set of brackets, move to the second set of brackets, and twist until it is the right size again. The brackets are mounted with screws and would not be moved often. You can move it easily from one bracket to the other, but not to any place you want.
