    Rated 3.2 out of 5★ by 10reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Very impressed with performance Today is Sept. 26, 2012. I just bought this battery. The one it replaced was the same model. I purchased it in March 2006. So, it far outlasted it's warranty time. Also of note: The old battery had a dead cell, and was only putting out 10 volts. It still, however, started my car (slow cranking of course) every time for over 2 weeks. Now, that's pretty good! 09/26/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Rated very high by Consumer Reports So I have just purchased this battery and everything went great. The N after the 35 is to designate it is for the colder Northern Climates. A 'S' is for the warmer southern states, It was tested by Consumer Reports and it was rated very high overall and in the cold cranking amps.Since I live near Chicago it can get quite cold. This battery is an upgrade to my Wifes 2009 Honda Accord coupe which has a size 51R. The 51R size seems a little under rated. We have had her old battery not be enough power to start in the cold or if the car was not used for about 7 days. She does have a remote start installed which does costantly draw some power. I wanted this larger 53N battery in hopes to fix both issue. To install this 53N battery in the Honda a differnt bracket is needed ,Honda part number *31512-S0X-A00* which can be purchaed at the dealer for a few dollars. No other parts needed, even the plastic shield fit over this battery. Hope this helps someone. For me the average battery life has been around 5 years. I will post my results on this one. 12/14/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Battery only lasted 3 years but free replacement Battery went bad right at the 3 year mark but Walmart replaced it with an exchange battery even though I had lost the receipt. They did honor the warranty with the date code punched out on the battery. The store I went to in Secaucus NJ did not have the battery on the shelf, even though the online search said it was in stock. The customer service rep told me to go back and ask the associate at the auto department to make sure they didn't have one in the back because they could not give me a cash refund, only an exchange, since I did not have the original receipt. The other option would be to find another Walmart that had one in stock. I finally found an associate and assistant manager and they searched the back stock room and found the " warranty " battery that did not have the retail label on it with no date code on top , and I was able to get e free replacement! They issued a new receipt with the original date of purchase 10/2010, so that this battery would only be "pro Rated" for the final 2 years, but I am Extremely happy with Walmart ! 09/16/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Installed and car run runs fine Purchased the Everstart Maxx-35N on October 7. Installed it the same day.So far the car runs fine. Has more cranking amps than the OEM battery. The old battery was draining the charging system before it completely failed. Now the power is back up to where it should be.This battery is made by Johnson Controls. They also make Die Hard and many other top named brands.Warranty is just as good as more expensive top named brands. 10/09/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Bought a second one This is the second EverStart battery I've had in my current car (2005 Vibe). Replaced the OEM battery with the first one in August 2007 and it's been reliable 100% of the time. Six-plus years out of a battery that retails under $100 and lasts like this? You bet I'll be buying these from now on. 11/04/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Very good My wife bought it last Aug 2009 and replaced it today June 29, 2013. It meet my expectation and extended 9 months. 06/29/2013
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Extremely poor performance in low temps I'm on my way to the store, shortly. I've got to wait for my battery to charge first.GIVENS: I do understand that the temperatures during this 2013-14 winter are setting new record lows in my area for both "lowness" and duration. However, I also understand that Walmart says this battery is a "MAXX" and is "The Most Powerful EverStart Battery Available" which is "Great for all weather climates".CONS: This will be the third battery in as many months. Once the temperature reaches about 10F or less, this battery requires I start my vehicle to recharge it about every 9 hours. If the temperature falls below -5F, I must start it about every 4 hours. If I am unable to start the vehicle within that time, the battery requires a jump or a few hours on a borrowed charger.PROS: The initial battery lasted 19 months. Performance above 15F is typically acceptable. Walmart, so far, has replaced the battery after their standard battery-life tests show it has failed and that my vehicle's charging system is operating correctly.P.S. After the second battery, I took an apparently unnecessary extra precaution by taking the vehicle into the shop and having the charging system professionally inspected. While there, and against the mechanic's findings, I took the additional precaution of having the alternator replaced. Wasted money all around.P.P.S. While one of the PROs is, so far, the convenience of having Walmart replace the battery, I've decided to purchase a trickle charger (the Battery Tender Junior Charger, if you're interested). Spending an hour or two at Walmart while they test the battery and my vehicle is becoming very tiring. 01/29/2014
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Not good Bought an EverStart Maxx battery at Walmart in 2008. Replaced in bad winter weather 2010. Now, in 2013, again the thing needs replacement. Their Champion line of batteries is supposedly made better and I talked with Johnson Controls who makes their batteries for the data. Still, had enough with free replacement batteries from Walmart or Sam's Club. I just want one to last 8 years with no issue. Getting Ford Motorcraft battery, now. I see that AC Delco are very good as well. I had a Ford Motorcraft years ago in another car and that lasted forever no problem. Had a Duralast from Autozone in yet another car and that was alright as well. I highly recomend the Ford Motorcraft, though. They make them for cars of all makes, not just Fords. 01/23/2013
