Rated 5 out of 5★ by Jvan20Potter EverStart MAXX-H6 is the same battery as Die Hard Comparing the pictures, and the current product, leads me to believe it is the same as a Sears DieHard H6. The case is the same molding, the specs are the same, the exchange warranty is the same. It is a sealed unit (no maintenance) and needs to be charged before using. The only problem is the venting: no venting tubing or fitting is supplied, so you have to come up with that yourself, to direct any vented gases/acid out of the battery compartment. And some of the items on the shelf didn't have the cover for the positive terminal, which is molded with a plug for one of the vent holes (that's a problem at Walmart: stuff that can be removed from a product usually is, probably by shoplifters). So plug one vent hole, and run a tube from the other down and out of the compartment. Also on the shelf was a newer model of this battery, which has a different casing, a carry handle, built-in (non-removable) covers for the terminals, and a CCA rating of 730, vs the 770 of the current model. Looks like Walmart changed suppliers for this particular size (H6) battery. 08/12/2012
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Captbeefheart So far -so good Just bought a replacement for my 3 1/2 yr old Maxx battery. Be forewarned- the service desk usually has no knowledge of "pro rating" after the 3 yr warranty has expired. Fortunately, I was graced with good sales folk who were diligent enough to call the distributor and verify that Maxx batteries have a 2 yr pro-rate past the 3 yr warranty. Now, I've taken steps to photo copy this add and stapled it to my receipt. Next time I may not be so lucky.Let's face it, all batteries fail (usually at the worst time) so any battery you buy is only as good as the warranty or the company that stands behind it. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the pro rate should be listed on the label or receipt. 07/22/2013
Rated 2 out of 5★ by GolfSkiUtah Dead in Less Than Two Years Bought in September of 2011 and in June of 2013 it would not turn the engine over. Only drove 3000 miles since installed. Always garaged and on a trickle charger if not driven for two weeks or more. This is the second WalMart battery in this car (Porshe 911) in less than 4 years. This one is supposed to have a three year full replacement warranty. We will see when I take it in to WalMart tomorrow! 06/04/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by CEAnders best deal available Was having problem starting my jetta tdi during colorado single digit winter. The car would have no crank even on battery 1.5 years old. Battery was a champion brand, turns out was purchased at walmart. Champion is no longer carried or made for that matter. walmart gave full refund toward ever start maxx, ended up costing ten bucks to cover difference. Car starts fine enen in single digit mornings, and battery is recommended by consumer reports as best buy. 01/09/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★ by TCinTheBigCity A powerful auto battery, great value OK, so this is both a great lead acid battery and a great value. Powerful (730 peak CCA), holds a charge well and it starts in nearly all Northern US weather. By the way, only a few corporations actually make US lead acid batteries, and one of them is Johnson Controls. This H6 battery has worn both Ever Start and Die Hard stickers. Be confident that this battery does the job, as it has in my Volkswagen. 03/19/2014
