This convertible car seat is priced just above the lowest cost entries. It is a good value for the money paid. The weight is a little less than the Eddie Bauer that I have been using for our 4-yr old, Nevertheless, I presume that it would perform according to safety specifications, since it was approved. It is easy to install or move from car to car. Also, the baby seems to be comfortable in it and it is easy to put her in or take her out. I can't see any extra benefits offered by seats 4-5 times the price. 12/28/2012
