Rated 5 out of 5 Stair Gate Only in use for a few weeks now but is used everyday and is functioning very well. These, and other items, should be reviewed after about 6 months use, not just weeks. Locking system is simple and functional. Gate slides and swings open smooth. Very satisfied so far. 12/05/2010

We just got a second one for grandma's house because you can also easily remove the gate (leaving just the brackets in place) while it's not in use--but a toddler certainly won't be able to remove the gate. I researched a lot of gates and tried out a few, and this has been by far the best and problem-free--and the best price to boot! 11/05/2010

This one fit the bill perfectly.If you get the marks right, it's easy to install. Easy for adults to open, not for kids. It swings all the way open so nothing to trip on. In a whim it can be dislodged by adults by lifting it out of the hinges etc. I don't care the hardware is still there. It's safe, sturdy. The cats can walk through but the dog can't.16 month old can bang all she wants (though we don't let her) and the gate stays secure. One handed opening makes it a breeze. 11/02/2010
