This seat is for forward only facing. The safety recommendation is for children to rear face until 2 years of age. I would say this is not one that is good for an 18 month old. You need a convertible seat that can be forward facing when the time is right.

At the moment I am torn with this option for my almost 2 year old.  If your child meets the weight/ height requirements then it&#39;s safe. However, my only issue is that the seat is a bit upright and would not be as comfortable for sleep. I am leaning towards a convertible option like the Cosco scenera next. This gives you the option of foward and rear facing (recommended until 2 years old.) In foward facing mode, it&#39;s much more reclined than the Maestro. My almost 4 year old can still fit in this seat but would outgrow it soon. She is 35 lb and 41 inches. The max for this seat is 40 lb/43 inches. Hope this helps.

I previously answered your question. If I&#39;m reading it correctly, it says your child is 39 inches tall. That is pretty tall and he may outgrow the Cosco convertible option quicker than you would like. You can always purchase the maestro and trying it out. You can return it if it doesn&#39;t fit your needs.

Only when the internal harness is used. Installation as a belt-positioning booster requires the use of the lap and shoulder belt. Airlines only offer a lap belt.

Technically it&#39;s illegal to use non-EU approved seats in EU countries. If you&#39;re just visiting or in the military, you can definitely use it. Most cars there won&#39;t have pre-locking seat belts so you will need to use LATCH (called ISOFIX in the EU) or a locking clip if your child is over the LATCH weight limit.

It does not recline, but it has a slight recline built in, I found it to be comfortable for my daughter whether she was awake or sleeping.

This is a grow type car seat. Parts can be removed to allow it to accommodate almost any child.

This carseat goes up to 50 lbs. My son is 4, 45 lbs and 50 inches tall. His head almost reaches the top of the carseat and is a little snug in the crotch area where it buckles. Check into the Graco Tranzitions, it adjusts higher.

Love the style and the ease of installing the seat. The book was unclear if you use the teather straps don't use the car seat belt also it's one or the other! If you only use the top teather use the seatbelt!! Keep kids safe. 
Down fall I don't like the cup holders.. But my son loves his seat he is 3.

I love this toddler car seat. It took me some time to finally come to a decision. I did a lot reading, looking up different websites, different car seats, and reading reviews. Needless to say... I purchased this car seat, and is quite pleased. My 1 year old son loves it, it's comfy. The easy to reach cup holder in the front as oppose to the sides is a plus. Great product.
