Rated 4 out of 5 by Catrescuefamily Very good for homes with animals We are an animal rescue family and have as many as a dozen cats/kittens in our home at any given time. The Eureka SuctionSeal works as advertised on both our carpeted areas and bare floors, picking up much more hair and debris than both our built-in vacuum and "conventional" upright vacuum. There was a minimal assembly required, but the directions were very clear and it was easy. The only complaint is that we vacuum every day, and some of the external plastic parts seem a bit flimsy and might not last. So far, so good, however... 03/17/2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kandigirlcw Haven't Owned a Dyson and won't ever First off I am always seeing those Dyson's as today's special values on the two leading shopping networks and I am always thinking who in the world would spend that much money on a vacuum cleaner. I have never considered buying one but they must be some kind of good if people invest in them. I did not need a vacuum cleaner but I have gotten really good use out of my last Bissell bagless and thought why not try this one and if it doesn't do the job I will return. Like many other reviewers I read reviews on everything these days before I make a purchase. I think it's just smarter to do so.I purchased this last friday and put it to the full house test on saturday morning. It was easy enough to put together and here is what sold me on it:1. The suction is unbelievable. I had vacuumed a few days before but it still picked up what looked like a lot of dust and tiny particles. It makes my light carpet look a lot cleaner.2. Be careful on your throw rugs and maybe turn your roller off. I used this on mine and it suctioned so good on the lowest carpet setting I noticed it was removing some of the piling. BEWARE...really good suction here.3. The attachments work well. Used it on the stairs and it was pretty good.4. I used the long arm attachment to clean those yucky air conditioning vents and this thing got them clean...really really clean...all dust that had attached to it was removed.Cons:1. Arm attachment could be longer. I was looking for that extra one that is usually provided but there is the hose and only one extender.2. The stair and upholstry attachment does not attach to the unit so you have to keep up with it.3. You must remember to switch the tools dial back to floor when you go back to carpet or bare floors or you will think this guy isn't working properly. Lots of options to use so don't forget them as you vacuum.4. The chord is not completely suctioned back into the unit. Like another reviewer said you have to press the button several times to get full suction and mine still does not go in completely like it should. Close but not fully.5. Chord has to be maneuvered a lot to keep it out of the way while vacuuming and it is kind of heavy to push in comparison to others.All things considered the suction is why we buy vacuum cleaners..to get the most dirt and dust out of our homes... so in my book it's the best I have owned for this reason. It suctions the dirt out of your carpets!!! Again, I don't own a Dyson but I don't see how it could get any better outside of some additional options that I don't really want to pay for. 03/05/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by nscheer AMAZING vacuum! This is an outstanding vacuum. I bought it as part of a bundle along with a Bissell stick vacuum. It replaced a 10-year-old Eureka bagless vacuum. As my old Eureka had a tendency to blow dirt out the back side, I expected to be disappointed with this vacuum. Not the case! First off, it was very easy to put together-no tools needed and ready to vacuum in 15 minutes. This thing vacuums like a beast! It lifted dirt I didn't even know was there. My carpets are actually a lighter color than before. The stair/upholstery attachment is amazing as well. Great suction, and the brush in the attachment really lifts the carpet and gets the dirt out. Only downside: the cord retractor will not retract the last 12 inches of the cord, but hey, I can live with that compared to all the pluses on this machine. You won't be disappointed! 08/15/2012
