This is great since we aren't huge coffee drinkers, but often have company that love coffee. Insert the coffee packet and everyone's happy. Kids want lemonade immediately after, switch out the packet and they are set. I think the hot temperature is GREAT. The cold isn't ice cold, but I'm still happy with it.Easy product to use and I love the safety option so the kids can't pour hot water on themselves.I have also used the hot water option for instant oatmeal and instant mac n cheese. So fast and easy. I've heard of people using it for baby bottles as well. Love how quick it is. 12/09/2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by man114 Nice appliance Now that they're $99 this thing is actually a really nice buy.Basically what you have is a water heater cooler adapted to use Esio's beverage dispensing packets. This means it can also dispense plain hot water and cold water too. This is a great convenience if you drink lots of Tea or need a cold glass of water but don't have a dispenser on your fridge. It doesn't take up as much space as a freestanding water cooler. My wife drinks many cups of tea, it was always handy to have hot water available without having to boil it, our old coffee maker that could do it broke. Brewing plain water through the Keurig tastes like coffee, making it not ideal for a hot water dispenser.Unlike many countertop coolers it doesn't have to have a big jug on top, so it doesn't look as obtrusive. It also doesn't run a peltier cooler style fan to cool the water, instead opting for a compressor, which is much queiter. As far as water temperature, its about 40 degrees on the cool side, the hot comes out hotter than the 192 setting on my Keurig, so I have no complaints there, I don't need to be burning my tongue. The beverage packs, the sweet ones run a tad sweet even on weak settings. The coffee wasn't undrinkable in the standard version, just kind of generic. I'll try one of the others. They're on clearance in store but full price on line. Even if Wal-Mart stops carrying them you probably can get them through one of the distributors of the office size version of the machine, which seems to be widely available in certain areas. The good thing is since it dispenses at the rate at which water is added, that means that you can have a half cup of coffee, or a tiny glass of Lemonade. No crossover in flavor at all. Can make a beverage and have a cold glass of water. Makes no difference.Biggest downfalls are it tends to splash with a short glass. Availability of packets of drink mixes might have you seeking out one of the other distributors if Wal-Mart stops carrying them. This might force you to pay shipping on top of cost, which Wal-Mart has free on site to store as of now. The Esio is also heavy and somewhat bulky. It does however do what it says and that is the most important part. 03/21/2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by wilddiva Worried I took it out of the box and used it on the hot and cold beverage...the Lemonaide was decent but the coffee that came in the box had an interesting taste. My main worry is the length of time that it's taking to turn green so that we can get cold water for our beverage. I guess you can say that it should serve its purpose..my kids love it. I just hope after a year or so that the beverage packs will still be available for purchase. I don't wanna be stuck with a machine that no longer has products for it. I also am a little taken back that you have to use purified or distilled water because you would think for such a product that started out this expensive should purify the water as well. 04/08/2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by radarmile Skip this one If you like artificial sweeteners, a massive loss of countertop space, and coffee that makes MRE coffee seem like Juan Valdez just brought you a cup...then this is the item for you. If you want to make beverages people will like, don't make my mistake. Make them a real drink. 05/22/2013
