    Customer Product Reviews

    Rated 4 out of 5★ by 99reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Good Value and Results When I purchased this scanner in mid-2007, it was a very good value. Scanners with comparable capabilites cost twice again as much. I initially used included Adobe PE and SilverFast software and over time upgraded to more powerful versions.Using this scanner, I've scanned over 5,500 negative transparencies and several hundred photo prints using SilverFast, typically for ultimate use with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Scan results were excellent. 06/26/2009
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Fantastic Performance This is the best scanner without going for dedicated film scanners or drum scanners. With family and budget constraints, the family can get the most out of scanning docs while i can get superb scans from film/transparencies. Expensive? Yes, but when you consider its versatility, it's money well spent. I just hope Epson offer drivers for Windows 7... 10/03/2009
Rated 5 out of 5★ by 5 Stars with SilverFast Using the V750 for almost a year now, I have to state my complete satisfaction with this device. It's a well-priced happy medium between cheap all-round flatbed scanner and expensive dedicated film scanner. The only drawback is the Epson Scan software to run it, which is very basic and does not allow to use the scanner's capabilities completely. Fortunately, SilverFast was included in delivery.I've updated to SilverFast Archive Suite straight away, because I'd made very positive experience with SilverFast before. With this version you can use SilverFast's own dust and scratch removal iSRD, which is superior to ICE in speed and quality. You can manually adjust any parameters and having a little experience you should be able to remove any defects without increasing artifacts or losing detail. This is just one example, I mention because previous writer Crowshooter seems to have problems with. There are many other features you won't find an equivalent in Epson Scan, Multi-Exposure for instance. 03/24/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Good Value Setting up and installing the scanner and the software was relatively straightforward. The Epson scan software does a good job on film and standard 35mm slides. For half frame and 110 slides, I used the included SilverFast software which I found to be powerful, but quioxitic. SilverFast tutorials were sometimes helpful, but they were not updated to show screen shots of the current version. For both Epson Scan and SilverFast AI I got mixed results with Digital ICE. In some cases it made things better, but for the most part I found a disturbing increase in artifacts and distorted edge effects when I used Digital ICE to try to clear up fungus and dust on 50 year old slides.Other reviews about the apparent fragility of the slide holder fingers rang true. I initially stored the holders on edge all together and later found one of the fingers almost broken off. I now store all the holders in individual hanging folders and have had no further damage. Found a parts seller on the Internet that sells holders for a reasonable price, so I bought extras. Having an extra set of holders allows you to load one while you are scanning another. It doesn't halve your scanning time, but it does make things more efficient. In summary, I like the scanner. It seems to be reasonably fast; gives good quality scans when you get the hang of it; and has held up very well. I've scanned 4800 frames so far.If you buy the additional warranty, open the envelope when you receive it. Turns out there is a 30 day window to register the warranty with the company. 01/25/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great scanner - disappointing build It's a great scanner and gives outstanding results. It should for the price.I was disappointed to find that Epson's usually outstanding quality fell short on my unit. There's a fingerprint and dirt on the inside of my glass. 04/07/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by BEST PURCHASED SCANNER The multiple scan feature with negatives and slides is terrific..Scanned prints come out better than the originals. The digital Ice feature works great for my old black and whites..This is the 3rd Epson scanner I have owned and by far the best.... 04/28/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great Scanner This scanner is a very high quality product. The software installed smoothly and has a well-engineered intuitive interface that makes it very easy to use. I've been using it for about two months now to scan document and photos. In all cases, the scanned output was of very high quality. I am very pleased with this product. It outperforms the scanner (different manufacturer) that it replaces in every respect. I strongly recomment this product to anyone who wants a high quality well built scanner that I believe will continue to perform very well for many years. 05/13/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Incredible quality and fast scans at 3200 dpi After much research and some concern about potential quality of a flatbed scanner for film scans, I went ahead and purchased the 750 M Pro. And am I ever glad I did. This is an incredibly good scanner. So far I've scanned 3,536 negatives and I'm very pleased with the quality and speed of the scans. I'm using the Epson scan SW, since I could never get the Silverfast to produce quality scans for some reason. I have all features turned off as I do all my adjustments in Photoshop CS4. I found 3200 DPI to be a good compromise between speed and a nearly noiseless image when enlarged. Using the film strip holder, and loading 6 strips of 4 negatives each, the scanner completes the batch in just under 15 minutes, which is far quicker than I can keep up on the adjustment end. BTW, after all the whining about the film strip holder, I was concerned it would be too flimsy. It is easy to use, holds the film tightly and I cannot imagine how people are breaking them. I have not used any of the other holders that came with the scanner and do not plan to do "wet scans".Overall, the color quality is exceptionally good and require minimal color adjustments in PS. I usually make other adjustments such as exposure, contrast, clarity, tone curve adjustments, etc. but consider this to be a normal activity I do even from shots from my Canon 5D MKII digital camera, although I am not saying the scans match the MKII. But still they are very good. Sometimes the color balance is off, but usually when a shot was underexposed or taken in poor light, etc. When the light is right, I cannot believe how sharp the scans are and how colors pop. I was not expecting this high a quality on negative scans frankly.I have no complaints at all about the scanner and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to complete a high volume of scans. The V750 is certainly up to the task and I think a good value for the money. My only issue is with the Silverfast SW, which I could never get to perform satisfactorily on negatives. But since the Epson SW does a great job and is extreemly easy to use, I really don't care. 05/19/2010
