    Great SLR Camera Buying the Canon XS was a no brainer since I previously owned a Canon 35mm Rebel. The XS provides photo's with vivid colors. I was amazed when I attempted to take a photograph of the moon. That requires using at least a 300mm telephoto lens and tripod to steady the camera. Controls are easy to use and Canon also has help tips on the web that come in handy. All the old lens on my 35mm work with the XS. Therefore that saved me big bucks in not duplicating the purchase of additional lens. Camera takes excellent action shots. Money well spent. 07/19/2009
    The best bang for your buck. I've been into photography for over 6yrs now and I have always been partial to Olympus cameras. So I was very skeptical when I purchased the Canon Rebel Xs. The first time I took the camera out I was shocked at how easy it was to use and the qaulity of pictures it provided. To sum up the performance of the Canon Rebel in two words would have to be-over achiever. I am completely satisfied and would highly recommend it to anybody.This camera will make anybody look like an expert and you'll have the time of your life using it. 07/13/2010
    Quite good This is basically a Canon XSi that someone hit in the head with a mallet. It works almost the same, just a little slower all around.The camera has most of the same options, the Live View, the shooting modes, etc. The body is a little smaller than the XSi, so if you have troubly holding the XSi (like me--big paws) then you should definitely look towards the 40D.It has a good amount of megapixels, again not as much as the XSi, but as much or more than many other SLRs. It is essentially a slightly slower version of the older XTi with a couple extra features. I loved the XTi (except the hand size) and this doesn't disappoint.Really, the camera body is just a box to hold light. The lenses are where it really counts. This does exactly that, plus a load of features a lot of people are never going to use. It makes a great intro into the world of SLRs.The kit lens is only OK. It is also the cheapest wide angle money can buy. Unless you plan on upgrading soon, I'd get it with the kit lens. 07/05/2009
    New to digital SLR's I've never owned an SLR camera so this was my first. This is a great camera. It's user-friendly, takes wonderful pictures, and you can put your money into lenses which is where you really want it to go. I would recommend this to anyone! 01/20/2009
