Great for a karaoke party This Emerson karaoke machine was one of the best things I ever bought. We have had a couple of family events and this has turned out to be "the life of the party". It has a screen so you can use it by itself or hook it up to the TV to make it easier for people to see the lyrics.The sound is great, and even though most people don't have great voices, it has some buttons that allow you to change the sound so people wind up sounding better. It helps to have 2 microphones so 2 people can sing at the same time. It comes with some music but make sure to order up a good selection of various music. You can also use with your iPod which is a great feature. PLus you can download some music on to a USB and play that music also.I saw the previous review and wonder if the person just didn't read the directions. Plus you can call Emerson on a number that is enclosed. I think they also go by JS Karaoke. Since this machine has some advanced features I think people get confused, although for me it was pretty simple: plug it in and we were ready to go. We had another machine(from different company), but it does not compare to this unit. 11/21/2011
Don't Waste Your time or money! This equipment was purchased and was delivered by "Santa" for my 7 year old granddaughter. Needless to say, disappointed is an understatement!! We purchased an extra microphone and 3 popular artist CDs to go along with her "BIG gift". When we got it out of the box and plugged it up--nothing!! No sound came out of the speaker, although it did play when hooked up to the TV with RCA jacks. But no sound from the mics through the speaker!! Sad little girl! Then to beat it all-- when my daughter went to put the machine back in the box, it completely crumbled apart! The top piece that mounts onto the speaker(screen area) was held together by flimsy plastic brackets and each one broke all to pieces!! This machine needs to be taken off the market! DO NOT BUY! I am a "review reader" on all major purchases. This equipment had two reviews, one good & one bad. Unfortunately the equipment I originally wanted was out if stock at the time-- so against my better judgment, I took a 50/50 shot. I hope this review helps someone from the dissapoinment my granddaughter felt on Christmas morning!! We had to tell her the elves must have been sleeping on their job ;) But our local Wal-Mart was very helpful in assisting us in returning this product. We are grateful for their courteous & helpful service! 12/29/2011
Gave this to my son for his birthday. They got it out of the box and it never worked. Not even a hum. Just a worthless piece of equipment. With extra microphones I spent 177.00 , one would think it would have been checked at the factory for at least a one time work. Save yourself time and money and buy another make, maybe the less expensive one works better?????? 11/15/2011
I would not purchase this... I bought this for my 5 year old who loves to sing and when we took it out of the box and plugged in the mic's it hummed and made high pitch noises. I went to move the machine and it started to come apart. My daughter was so upset and started to cry thinking she wasn't going to be able to sing to her favorite music anymore. I told her we would take it back to the store and see what else we could find. 01/16/2012
