Cheapest 15ft cable I could find through a mainstream retailer. The quality is good and the connectors work like they should. Picture quality is the same as with the 6ft Vizio cable it replaced.

    • I would expect no problem doing so. I'm linking an Acer Aspire laptop to an Emerson HDTV (HDMI to HDMI and setting the HDTV to the input setting "HDMI 1") and it works perfectly for me.

    • Only if you have a HDMI imput on your computer but, you will still have to run a audio cable along with this cable because it doesn't send the audio signal.

    • This cable will transmit video and sound from your laptop or desktop computer to your hdmi enabled TV and/or monitor. **NOTE** However, be sure on your laptop or desktop that you change your sound output from speakers to HDMI.

I see all sorts of Price's for theese HDMI Cables. What is the Diffrence between the High Dollar Cables and the Ones that are at A Good Price? I Bought A Cable that Cost around $20.00 and now I have 1080 on all the Channels on my HD TV.It was Gold Plated just like the High Dollar ones. Please let me Know before I Buy some new Cables for other TV's I plan on Hooking up to Home Entertainment System.Thank You

    • To be honest I don't see the difference, I went to Radio shack and saw the expensive HMDI gold, so I asked the clerk and he said that there was not much difference, except when it came to outside use or a very long distance.

    • I'm just an average layman here; no Geeky Techy computer genius in any way, shape, or form; BUT ... from what I've read about differences in cable quality on-line is that "as long as it works" there's really not any significant/or any at all real difference in picture or sound quality to really warrant spending the extra dollars for the high end cables. I figured I'd start with the cheapest one I could find and work up from there. This one for less than $10 tax included and free shipping "site to store" was my first experiment and it's working fine for me.

    • The design of these type of cables from what I have seen deliver the same quality picture. I have a 6 foot cable that we paid more for than this 15 foot cable and this one is just as good or better.

    • It's like buying Nike shoes, you're paying for the name. I did alot of research online before buying and all agree price doesn't matter.

    • HDMI is still fairly new and with many new things people think bigger is better. More you pay must mean that it is a better item, but that is not true. Gold plated cables cut down on corrosion and in turn help with connections over time, but with most electronics unless you leave your cables on a beach by the ocean your cable will outlast the item it is connected to. Everything I have read pretty much agrees there are three levels of cables; Overpriced, super cheap and just right. Bargain bin or at the dollar store might not be best cables to hook up to a high dollar system, but no need spending $100-200 on a cable when you will get the same quality out of a $10-20 cable. First HDMI cable bought cost $30-40 and I notice zero difference between it and $10 cable I bought later on. Have tried both out on Blu-Ray player, Play station 3 and PC connected to store brand TV (which I prefer) and a RCA.

    • The real difference is only in the price. Some people will swear that a $100 cable makes all the difference in the world. I think those people are nuts, cable is cable.

    • I'm doing something very similar to what you're after with an Acer Aspire laptop to an Emerson HDTV. I'm linked HDMI port on the laptop to HDMI port on the HDTV. The TV has an "Input Selection" button on the remote where I can set the TV input to "HDMI 1". It does for me exactly what you're wanting to accomplish in your set-up. So if your HDTV has that Input Selection option I'd expect you can do the same.

    • HDMI is audio as well as video so if your laptop has an hdmi connector it should work fine. On my Gateway PC I have to set playback device to LCDTV for audio to play on my TV Speakers. As far as video goes you will have to do similar settings. In my case going to graphics properties and then setting to multiple display (to use desktop monitor as well) or set output to LCD TV.
