Beats what my computer guy could do for me

    Customer review by CKToo

I have an older computer (Pentium dual core) designed to work with Window Vista. It was painfully slow with Vista. So I had my computer guy installed Window XP which is a generation before Vista and a much faster Window operating system. The whole thing worked great except no one could get the wi-fi of my computer to work anymore. I tried on my own and then with a few other computer techs, no luck. But they all then recommended USB wireless Wi-Fi adapters. But either they were too big or too expensive. One tech installed his version but you had to re-connect every time. So I rejected that. There has got to be a better one, I thought. So after some Internet research and read reviews. I bought Edimax from Walmart (online only, don't try to find it in the stores) for about $10. I am glad I did! I installed the whole thing in less than 5 minutes: 1. Plugged in the Edimax 2. Put in the installation CD 3. Computer screen then almost immediately told me that it found my Wi-Fi router and asked for the password. No computer geek-speak involved. Anyone can do it. 4. Enter password and then I was connected!

I bought a second computer recently, and wanted to use Wired internet for it, and Wireless for my old one. So I looked online, and found this. I didn't think that it would be very good, but I ordered it to try it out. It far exceeded my expectations. It's nearly as fast as my Wired internet, and is the best one I've seen for this small of a price tag. It's extremely small, slightly smaller than an American penny (a bit thicker, though,) and still provides the same high quality internet you'd expect from a much bigger, more expensive one. A very good investment, if I do say so myself.
