Nice Headboard for the price
8/6/2010

Customer review by Gene48AspenOhio

4.0 stars by Gene48AspenOhio

I purchased this headboard on May 3 2010. It was shipped to the store with the site to store feature at no cost to me. The box is a bit heavy but my wife and I managed ok. This will fit in a car only if the seats flip down. From the trunk with the back seat flipped down and the front seat moved all the way up, the trunk was left a little opened but it was no problem. The box was a little banged up and we though there would be damage but there was none. Be careful with the dowels as thay can come through the headboard when you are assembling this, I pounded a little to hard and one dowel came through the headboard. I placed double cardboard on top of the headboard and pounded the dowel back flush with headboard. I put this together myself after reading instructions and taking inventory of all parts. It took about an hour with a coffee break in between. One thing I will say is our bedroom has a sharp turn off the hallway and this headboard was put together in the room it was going in. Walmart had the best price on this headboard. We placed carpet on top of the headboard because our cats now look out of the window as well as sleep there. This headboard was placed up against the wall with our metal frame just slid up against the headboard with very little to no movement. Our mattrest lands about six inches before the shelf starts. This was a king bookcase headboard.

  • A. You need to read what you are buying...you are buying a headboard, no bed frame comes with this item. You have to order it separately..and you need a box spring to put a mattress on and this headboard will not work with just a mattress unless you want to fall through the center of the "U" frame.

  • A. Standard headboard for a standard boxspring and mattress. You could use just the mattress if you raised the frame.

  • A. You need the complete bed, and this headboard will sit at the head of your bed. So, you need mattress, boxspring, and frame.

  • A. This headboard is a stand alone piece and does not mount to anything. The legs are wide and provides a decent support system, but it needs to be punted up against the bed or it could wobble forwards and backwards.

  • A. This is not a "attachable headboard...the bed frame goes up to the side panels and the box spring and mattress keep it very sound and secure.

  • A. King size headboard weighs 90lbs. It really does not need to be mounted to the frame and does not have any brackets or pre-drilled holes to do so.

  • A. No, it does not, but it is pretty easy to drill a couple of holes. I just have it sitting behind the bed frame on it's own and it is sturdy. I have owned a few other head boards in this style and none of them mounted to the frame. They just don't need to.

  • A. There is wood there to attach this, but you will have to drill holes and provide the bolts to attach the frame to the headboard. We just placed the headboard against the wall with the medal frame up slid up against the headboard. Very little to no movement. No problem?

  • A. Its like a very thin piece of card board, however I think it is made out of pressed wood. I almost threw it away because its packed last on the bottom of the box.

  • A. The back of this headboard seems like a very, very, thin wood, almost like cardboard. It's located at bottom of the box and could be discarded very easy as packing. Its comes with very small brads to nail it as the last step.
