    Poorly advertised

It says it can hold up to 600 pounds. I'm 275 so figured great. Well that might be just the frame, which I admit is sturdy. The problem is the wood slats. If you could float over the bed and lower yourself down so your weight is evenly distributed, it would be ok. But to get in or out of bed most of us have to get in a sitting position. That means all your weight is on only a couple of slats. Sure enough, first time I sat up I heard crack, and found a slat had broken in two. They do seem a bit light weight. To add insult to injury, the phone number on the instruction sheet has been disconnected. Sorry, I really can not recommend this. At least not to someone over 200 pounds.

    Good frame

I bought this to use with the Spa Sensations 8 inch Memory Foam mattress since it does not need a box spring. This was fairly easy to put together and I do not feel the slats at all when sleeping. I was concerned that the mattress would go between the slats and it does not do that at all. Overall it is a good frame that does not need a box spring.

I was a little skeptical of this frame, but I was shocked at the quality once I assembled it. Like most bed frames this one isn't attractive, but with the addition of a bed skirt you can't even see it. The slat system adds great support to your mattress. This bed wasn't difficult to assemble (I did it by myself and I'm 7 months pregnant), but I would recommend using a socket wrench or it will take you hours to tighten all the bolts.

does it make noises when you move like a roll out bed?

    • Hi Andi, Never been on one of those. I bought the memory foam mattress that was 8 1/2 thick to go over the frame. I can honestly say that you throw yourself onto these beds & it's cushioned, soft & noise-free. The slats fit snugly into place (quite astounding really) & they give the impression of a spine with ribs... Anyway, my husband decided to help me build the other bed & broke one of the slats... I called the number on the sheet & they sent us a replacement slat in no time, at no cost & I put that one in myself & we're very happy with these beds still... (It's been 2 years now.)

    • This bed is solid. It makes zero noise when a kid jumps on it or there are 3 of us reading a book or horsing around on it.

    • No, no noise at all! this bedframe finally allows my nice mattress to feel very nice! I wish I had purchased this one first instead of picking up a cheaper $29 frame that was really hurting my mattress.. I highly recommend this frame, but you do not need to use a box springs with this frame..

I notice that there is nothing that looks like it "contains" the mattress on the top of the frame. Does the mattress shift around a lot?
    by glynnibabes 10/2/2010
    • My 10 yr old daughter, who moves ALOT when she sleeps, doesn't seem to have any problems with it. Really, when you put a mattress on a boxspring, there is nothing to hold it in place either.

    • There is a little shifting, but not much. My bed is not against the wall, but if it were, there'd likely be even less or no shifting.

    • the wood slats that the mattress rests on seem to keep shifting to a minimum. i am noticing no such problem, myself.

    • Haven't had that problem. It's just like if it were sitting on a box spring. Doesn't shift on that much either!

    • my memory foam mattress does slide a bit when I'm changing the sheets, but does not slide around just from getting in or out of the bed or when I'm making it. Rubber non-adhesive shelf liner cut in strips may eliminate the problem.

    • The wooden slaps are designed such that it makes moving the mattress easy, but it doesn't move by itself.

I like firm support, and stability of frame (no wobble factor as with adjustable frames), so was wondering if we could put a box spring and mattress both on this frame? Don't mind if it is higher to get on bed, can always use a step stool if necessary (I'm not real tall :) ) Thanks in advance for any opinions!
    by Neeniejan 8/8/2010
    • no way i'd use a boxspring with this type frame, could be dangerous.
      by mwl35/19/2011

    • This frame is VERY sturdy--no wobbling. Probably could use both if you like, but totally unnecessary.

    • yes, I'm currently using a box spring and mattress with the frame and love it! I love the height. :) Step stool will come in handy.

    • It would make your bed very high, but other than that, the only potential problem I see is that the box springs would add to the overall amount of weight on the frame. But as long as the people, box springs and mattress are under 600 lbs, it should work.

    • I just bought this and I am using both. I am fairly tall and don't need a stool, but I still notice a difference when I wake up in the middle of the night since I am not used to it yet and I forget. I like it though. It looks fine, and I haven't noticed and difference mechanically if that is what you are asking.

    • I think you might have issues if the bottom of the box spring is hard and flat since the slats are curved upward a bit. Honestly, I wouldn't use a box spring because it makes the mattress pretty firm as it is.
