This lightweight upright vacuum cleaner features a motorized brush bar, driven by an independent motor, for a better cleaning performance and a fingertip brush control to turn the brush bar on or off at the touch of a button. With a reversible wand for cleaning hard-to-reach areas, this HEPA upright vacuum cleaner also has an on-board accessory tool, in which the nozzle converts to a brush tool for dusting. Rated 5 out of 5 by Huskerfan Worth every penny... I had another brand of vacuum cleaner, not cheap, and well advertised by the company's owner, the machine bearing his name. All I had was trouble with it. It seemed to break a belt every time I tried to use it. I had to drive 70 miles one way in order to have it repaired by a licensed dealer of that brand. It never was properly fixed because I was still having to buy more and more bags and belts.I happened to see the Dyson vacuum as a "Today's Special" on HSN. Best money I ever spent. There are no belts or bags!! For that reason alone I wanted to test drive the Dyson. It has a ball to maneuver the floors effortlessly, getting into difficult places and picking up debris whether going forward or backward. It is so easy to keep clean; not having bags to contend with. To say that I am loving this great vacuum cleaner is a huge understatement. I found what I had been looking for for years. I thank HSN for having Dyson as a client and vendor, allowing me to discover the Dyson, and I thank Dyson for engineering and building such a wonderful machine. With my other vacuums, doing the floors was a chore, especially knowing that the carpet/floors weren't really clean and I would "break" another belt before I was finished. I actually like to do the floors. Never thought I would ever say that!! I am in my 60s, with back issues, and my Dyson is a dream where that is concerned too. It's very light - weight and as I said, the ball feature makes the job so easy.I highly recommend the Dyson. With its fantastic designing and ease of use, I look forward to getting it out to do its thing! 03/08/2011

I was very hesitant to spend this much on a vacuum because I was skeptical as to how much better a machine it could be. After having this for over a year now, I couldn't be more pleased. My wife usually does most of the vacuuming and it is a task I don't enjoy, but it is so much more pleasurable when using this Dyson. It is simple to operate and so effortless to use. We also use it several times per week and it always picks up more dirt each time we use it. I feel as though our house is much cleaner after using it. Also, it is simple to empty and clean. This is a quality product that I would recommend to anyone. Don't think I could ever purchase another vacuum because I believe they would always fall short when comparing. 03/06/2011
