The Dyson Ball DC24 Animal Upright Vacuum is a light upright machine that can be used on most floor types and homes with pets. The handle can slide into the machine allowing you to store it in small places. This lightweight bagless vacuum cleaner has a motorized brush bar, driven by an independent motor for improved cleaning performance. The vacuum cleaner has an integrated fingertip brush control to switch the brush bar on or off. Equipped with a reversible wand, the DC24 Animal vacuum reaches even the most inaccessible areas. The ball technology used in the vacuum cleaner lets you maneuver it with ease. It also comes with a min turbine heat attachment that picks up minute pet hair. For effortless dusting, you can convert the nozzle into a brush tool using an on board accessory tool. As with all Dyson ball vacuum cleaners, the DC24 Animal vacuum has minimal loss of suction.

The cord is much shorter than on my old DC7 and find I have to use multiple outlets to get our 20 X 14 family room done.All in all I would not recommend this machine. 12/20/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 Love the animal I was first introduced to the Dyson Animal at my sister's house with 2 very shedding dogs and 4 cats. Man that thing could suck! (I mean that in a good way.) I only have 2 cats, but work from home and create lots of dust and bits and pieces to clean. Plus just the normal household cleaning. I am truly amazed at what fills the canister after vacuuming a room that doesn't look quite that dusty. And, I'm not just pulling up carpet fiber as most of my home is hard surface flooring.My only complaint is about the pull-off hose and tube. The hose is not overly flexible, which I guess keeps it sturdy. But it is sometimes cumbersome to use. I like to use the attachments to perform what I call "vacuum dusting." In other words, I don't dust furniture/fixtures with a dust cloth, I vacuum it. Much faster. Plus, I clean my very large work table this way and I find myself fighting the tube just a bit. 12/20/2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by wwww1 Animal Great suction at first - drew dirt out of my carpet - I was amazed. Some major design problems though - very heavy to carry around esp. to go upstairs -awkward. Also the extension pole is very straight and not easy to use because of this. In addition it is designed for pet owners and I find the filter under the canister gets blocked very quickly with dirt and dog hair and has to be washed - this then takes at least 24 hours to dry which is inconvenient. 12/20/2010

Easy to use, easy to haul, easy to grab attachments. At one point it was making a horrible growling noise but one call to Dyson and a new part was in the mail, we swapped it out in 5 minutes and our quiet vac was back. Its worth the money. 12/20/2010
