Thank you for your question! The heavy duty garage door bottom seal should be installed using the nails that are included. If you wanted to adhere the seal to the bottom of the door you would need to use a contact adhesive.

This comes with nails for attaching it to the door.

I had a 8&#39;0&quot; door and had a foot extra.  It is 9&#39; on the nose.

Thank you for your question Irvin! The Garage Door Bottom Seal is secured with nails that are included with the purchase of the Door Seal.

They provide standard nails  (roofing I believe).  I would use smaller nails if doing it over, there is really no reason to create suck a large whole to secure such a light weight thing. OR...you could most likely just use a staple gun. this stuff is very very soft foam, so you will have no problem getting a staple through it.

I used a piece of I/O carpet under, not a floor seal.  Easier to pick up and sweep.  Not even an ant gets through. I put a 5/8 diameter humidifier drain around the side and it is sealed tight around it.  Snakes can't get in now.  We shake the door to make sure they aren't catching a tan by the door before opening.

Seals nice, real soft.

I'm happy to hear that this should hold up in any weather as it can get very cold where I live in the winter and hot and humid in the summer.  I have not noticed any water seeping underneath the door into my garage.
