I needed a black bed for my 18 mo old and it's low enough to the floor that if he were to fall out of bed it wouldn't hurt him, the rail is very sturdy and our deep pocket crib mattress fits in it perfectly. Oh, it didn't come with any instructions (might be just a fluke). My husband was able to get it together in less than an hour, but it was also the third one he has put together in 6 years. I'm sure if you don't get directions you could Google something... 03/05/2013
