About this item

Goku's quest - with nothing less than the fate of our world at stake - begins innocently enough in the backyard of his grandfather's home, where Gohan is training the young man in some exotic martial arts moves. It is Goku's 18th birthday, and Gohan's gift to his grandson is a Dragonball, a small, round ball whose surface is smooth and pearl-like, but with a milky translucence that gives it depth. Four stars float inside the ball. There are only six others like it in the world, and it is said the seven Dragonballs together will grant the holder one perfect wish. Connected to the legend of the Dragonballs is Goku's mysterious past - he never knew his parents - as well as the coming solar eclipse, which superstitions mark as a sign of a coming apocalypse. Gohan promises to reveal all to Goku at the special birthday dinner Gohan is preparing his grandson. But Goku skips out on Gohan's feast, to attend a party hosted by Chi Chi, a fellow student to whom Goku is drawn. As the two teens get to know one another, a tragedy at home is triggered by the arrival of a dark force - propelling Goku, Roshi, Bulma, Yamcha and Chi Chi into a race to collect all seven Dragonballs. The stakes couldn't be higher. Goku will face the deadliest enemies on Earth, master a powerful force called Ki, which marshals the energy of the universe - and learn the truth of his incredible past...and of a potentially unthinkable future.

Dragonball Evolution

Well, if you are a Dragonball or Dragonball Z fan, than this film is for you. but you have to understand that this film is not exactly the same as the cartoon tv show, there are some things in the show that were cut out, then the writter added some new products in the film that were never in the film... But over-all the film is full of action, comedy, drama, and it a good time for the whole family... Just think of the film to be a "re-imagination" of the old cartoon a lot of us still love to this day.

As a movie, this is a ok movie. But as an adaption of the greatest anime ever made of which I am a HUGE fan and collector of, the people that made this not only dropped the ball, they stomped it flat. They completely screwed up the stories for the characters and even called Goku's race the totaly wrong name, forgot piccolos antenna, and called the dragon by the wrong name. I do recommend this even for die hard fans just for the stuff in the movie that, while called the wrong thing or missing parts, the visuals are nice, and they actualy did make the dragon look GREAT

Goku isn't white

Goku is like superman to Japan. To make him white (as well as Bulma) was like a spit in the face. Goku was a kid when he fought King Piccolo and never went to school. Oozahru didn't work for Piccolo at any point. Nameks don't look like what they did to Piccolo. Bulma should have blue hair. Chi-Chi was never with anyone before Goku. They called the dragon Shenlong, which actually is correct despite what some of the other reviews said. He was Shenron in America, but Shenlong in Japan, which would be the more correct version. Yamcha is a fighter, which he wasn't in this movie. The characters didn't come close in the movie as to how they should have been. The people that made this most certainly did not do their research before deciding to make this movie
