This window hardware (curtain rod) metal with a wooden gold antiqued appearance. I was impressed with the quality as well as the appearance of the product. No one that has seen it can't believe that I purchased it from walmart. The duel rod allows you be in control of the light. I used this duel rod for most of the rooms in my home. Your choice in drapes enhances the rods giving them a slightly different appearance in each room. Most people don't notice the hardware is the same.

I bought this product after reading all the reviews and thought it would be perfect to use in my home... The product appearance is beautiful however after installing this on my window I realized that the connecting rods cannot be bolted together as a result everytime you move your curtain, the rods move and the link between the two rods disconnect... I don't think this was mentioned by any other reviewer... So be sure that it's meets your expectation before you buy this product...

This set is perfect for my valance/drape set. I was pleased with how heavy duty this is and I love how this set is simple but elegant at the same time.

  • A. Theoretically and technically it can be hung from the ceiling. Would it look well is a different question. I think it was not intended for the ceiling. But it is possible to screw to the ceiling and it will not fall off. It looks better on the wall.

  • A. I think they could be the rod and the end ball actually screw together with the hanger so the rod does not slip

  • A. Don't know why you'd want to mount it on the ceiling. The rods are sturdy enough to. The rods do not move once the ball at the end is screwed on. That holds the rod to the bracket.

  • A. If you use anchor bolts, you could mount on the ceiling, but they may not look as pretty as mounting on the wall above the window. You would have to try it and see what you think.

  • A. I believe so. The rods do not move once the whole thing is assembled. The end pieces connect the rods to the "loops" they go through.

  • A. Yes because the brackets are almost closed, but no, they are not a design to secure on the ceiling and be hanging one sheer and a thicker fabric over in separate. The fabrics would touch the other, not easy to draw them. But you can use the rods with diferent brackets that would hang from the ceiling like hooks, or secure with a chain/ring. The rods are sturdy enough for you to be quite creative. If it is for a very wide window, say 72" to 80" would be good to secure the middle by chain or thin wire, it won't bend with the wear and tear.

The wall attachment portion looks large and distracting compared to those of the arts and crafts and canopy double rods.
by gardenrose 1/5/2011

  • A. Yes you can see them if you hang the curtains from the very top edge of the curtain. If you have the type of curtains that you can drop the rod down a bit to slide it through it will cover the attachments pretty well.

  • A. depends how high you place them. Mine are 8 feet above the floor and still tiny piece is visible. Whatever is visible is not disturbing at all.

  • A. Not really. Most of the rod and brackets are covered by the curtain material. You can see just the tops. Of course when you open them, the middle stabilizer hook shows.

  • A. After sliding the rods through the valences, my valences have plenty of valence at the top(not sewn to hand from very top of valence). This makes rods invisible except the ends. Some valences hang with no space from the top and will show a little of the harware ends you would not want to see.

  • A. no, but my sheers that are on the second rod I can see them over my curtains, but I think that is because my sheers are handmade and the top part it bigger than most sheers.

  • A. Maybe from the side, but definitely not from the top. I have 84" curtains though, so my rod is hung higher. The end knobs stick out farther than the mounting piece, and if your curtains run to the ends then you can't see it.
