This item does not work as well as expected. Your lips literally have to be pushed against the microphone to hear yourself and it is still sounds quite broken up. It only allows you to use the microphone while the song is on. Our daughter cannot use it to hear her voice alone. And, I either didn't realize, or it didn't say, that it only plays one song. I assumed that it played a couple of princess song, but the one song it does play is a princess song turned kind of 'rock style', so it's not as recognizable. Also, you have to take the bottom section apart with a screw driver in order to tuck the cord away. So it is not easy access. We bought this item, and also bought a tiny mp3 player, to put on our daughters own songs. But there is no attachment for the mp3 player to the mic, so it is going to hang freely fro the mic for about a foot, unless she holds onto both items. If we had not have bought an mp3 player for her, the product would be totally useless. If you buy this, the literal item you are purchasing is a microphone that only is usable while it's one and only song is playing. Just be aware. the product itself seems sturdy, the price wasn't bad, but just be aware it isn't quite what it seemed to be. 12/22/2011
