Rated 4 out of 5 by Grannyat Digital Thermometers are not accurate I find that with all digital thermometers, especially not the very expensive ones, that they do not give an accurate reading by the time that beeper goes off. However, if you leave it in your mouth for a total of 3 minutes, your temperature reading will be much closer to a true reading. I don't mind waiting that extra time, especially when it comes to fevers, because it's so important to have as accurate a reading under these circumstances as is possible. I will say that this particular digital thermometer is a little more accurate than most, but only if you leave it in beyond the time it takes it to beep that it's done.So, bottom line, I would not trust the accuracy of any digital thermometer that isn't hospital or doctor grade quality. Too bad the old mercury thermometers can be so dangerous because those were accurate! 03/22/2013
