Just got the yogurt maker last week. Have made two batches of yogurt so far and the unit worked as advertised. It is a small good looking unit that you can leave out in plain sight in your kitchen.

It's A Yogurt Maker

Love it! Am used to making yogurt without a maker using the warm water in a cooler method. This seems to be a way more consistent method. The only thing about this maker that I'm not too crazy about is the size of the jars. They're pretty small--like baby food jars; and the lids snap on instead of screwing. Am wondering if they might lose their "snap" before long. Also would like to have more jars and most likely will buy an extra set soon. Hope this helps! :) Smile, Bless and Be Blessed!

This product will make yogurt in the 6 glass jars. If you want a product that is a fully automatic yogurt maker, this is not for you. You still need to boil the milk, let it cool, add the yogurt culture and then pour into the glass bottles. After doing that, the unit keeps the mixture warm as it makes the yogurt.

I love this yogurt maker. I love the individual glass jars and especially how I can control how much sugar goes into the yogurt!

This product works great. Only started with 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt and whole milk and still going. Loved that it has a much milder taste than store bought. Needs very little extra flavoring or sweetener.

This is a very easy yogurt maker to use. There are no directions included with it and any one inexperienced would have a hard time knowing how to start. I used it to make soy yogurt and it performed well. I would suggest that some form of instruction sheet be included with the maker.

I have not had it long enough to rate it long term durability but it appears to be very well made and a bargain at the price. The yogurt is fantastic and very easy to make. We have recommended it to several friends already.

My yogurt maker arrived with a defective timer. The instructions suggest to set the timer to 10 hours for the first yogurt-making attempt. After 8, the timer was just where it began. The blue timer/dial just spinned and spinned. Knowing the device would, therefore, not be able to shutoff automatically, I had to shorten the processing time, resulting in an underdeveloped product: somewhat thin and tart. I think yogurt made with this machine might just turn out well. After I return it, I have to decide if I will order it again.

  • A. You can use fat free milk and you should buy a plain yogurt to use for your starter. After your first batch is made to your satisfaction, you can use your yogurt as a starter the next time.

  • A. yes, cook the milk let it cool to 100f then add the starter, and the yogurt maker incubates it for up to 12 hrs

  • A. You have to bring your milk just to a boil either in a microwave or in a pan on your stove. Then you cool it down until it is just warm on the wrist. When it is warm, not hot, add your starter and mix thoroughly. Put your milk into the glass jars and put them into the maker. Set the time for approx. 60mins. Hope this helps

  • A. As far as I can tell, heating the milk to boiling just pasteurizes it. Since most milk comes with this done by the dairy I am not sure it is really necessary but it doesn't hurt to be sure.
