Deni Pro 11 Food Slicer 3.9 5 27 40
Disappointed Saw a few unhappy reviews about this product, but as they mostly complained about slipping around while using, I decided I could live with that.Unfortunately, the product simply could do its job. The blade was sharp but barely moved 72 rpm, meaning it mostly tore at the chilled bologna portion I attempted to slice. I changed slicing depths to no avail, and even tried moving the pusher slower and faster to see if it helped. It did not.As for the slipping, it has for suction cups, which are less suction cups and more feet, as they do not hold the slightest bit.Disappointed I returned the item and will now look for an difference manufacturer and a slightly higher price tag in hopes of finding something to actually do what it says it can. 02/03/2009
Does the Job If you're looking for the occasional slicer, this is it. I believe, for the cost, you won't find the same durability. Its true-it slides -but if you have a rubberized placemat to put underneath it, the problem's solved. Also, the slicing is not 100% if you're slicing something large (like a prosciutto) but it does give you a wafer-thin option and, like I said, if its occasional slicing this Deni is compact enough for a small kitchen. 04/29/2009
cheap Motor in this thing whines, doesn't stay in position, all gears are plastic. every slice is a different thickness due to the looseness of the back plate not staying in position. 01/29/2010
Good thing is it is very light. No problem with lifting it up and down from the shelf. It is perfect for slicing ham, bread, and vegetable. At first, I was expected this product to be more powerful. I tried to use it to slice frozen pork. It was ok (not great). The blade speed seems to work slower when used with frozen meat. Yet, it successfully sliced frozen meat though I had to push the meat through the blade real hard.Another bad thing is its stand does not stick to the table. The machine kept sliding away from you as you push the meat through the blade. 09/18/2008
