Rated 4 out of 5 Second time the charm. I bought a Dell refurb 2 weeks ago and it did not work. I know if you buy refurb you're taking a chance. I wrote a review stating this. No problem getting a refund from Walmart. Bought another and I must say I am pleased. It shipped quickly, was easy to set up, and works well. For those who have a bad first experience--try again. 03/16/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★ by great computer for a great price This computer was cheaper and yet better then the other computers that I was looking at. With 3ghz processor and up to 8GB of Ram this computer was better then others I looked at. The Graphics card isn't all that great, only for home use and no gaming. But this computer is a must buy. Just replace the GPU and you have a computer worth more then you would pay. 12/09/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Perfect Fit For A 2nd PC Exactly what I needed for a 2nd PC to help with my shipping needs. I was not in need of a brand new system with all the bells and whistles. This was a perfect fit. Very happy to have found this great value. 04/17/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Not a bad basic PC Purchased this PC to use as a home theater PC in my RV. Picked this one due to the size and name brand, and ordered an off brand ATI Radeon 5450 video card with HDMI output (but no heat sink fan since there's very little room next to the PCI 1.? x16 slot) directly from my friend tiger. However, I found out after my purchase, that the 745 SFF's had a cooling issue. They suck air in from the front, pass it over the CPU heat sinks through a duct, and blow the hot CPU air out into the motherboard to cool the rest of the system, but end up toasting some capacitors after some time in the process. I did the easy to accomplish "fan flip" thing so it blows the hot air out. In my initial testing, this worked pretty good in an open air environment and lowered the temps inside the computer by 10 degrees. However, as I half-expected, when I put the computer in the entertainment center, the hot power supply exhaust being cramped by the back of the entertainment center heats up the air being sucked in from the rear vents. The graphics card temps climbed 20 degrees before I rotated the computer sideways so the intake vents were close to the front of the entertainment center. A good and quiet case fan will be ordered and some quality time with my dremmel and a cutting wheel will be in my future. Then the plan is that there will be plenty of cool air blowing from the top directly in front of the CPU air duct intake and passing by the HDD and video card before exiting the back vents. The computer came clean, with no dust from previous use and packaged well for shipment. The case was in great shape. Shipping was free and took a week. The vulnerable capacitors that tend to cook from the cooling issue appear to be in excellent shape, possibly new. The optional HDD tray fan was not included in the hard disk tray. All four memory slots were filled with 512MB 533MHz memory, so to upgrade to 4GB (max win 7 32-bit can address), you need to dig through the parts bin at work or buy all new/used sticks to max it out for speed/capacity. Same with the hard drive since it's only 160GB which doesn't hold a lot of movies and there's no extra SATA connector (so if you want a 2nd SATA HDD, you'll have to lose the DVD ROM drive). Without the HDD fan, there's an extra fan connector, but I don't remember if it's 3 or 4 pin. There's an internal USB connector on the motherboard as well. The good temp/fan control software available for downloading do not appear to work with the Pentium D processor. The 8 USB ports are nice (2 front, 6 back). Tossed the cheap supplied power cord for something a little more robust with thicker blades and wires from spare parts . The USB keyboard and mouse are cheap but do the job and have decent cord length. The computer appears to come with the actual windows 7 home premium for refurbs disk, not just a restore disk which is a big plus for me. To make your own restore/repair disk, you'll need a USB CD/DVD writer or USB flash drive since this only has DVD ROM. As expected, it does not come with MS Office, just windows pre-installed and the windows 7 32-bit disk.I received the computer yesterday, and after configuring it to my liking, tried it out with its limited RAM as a HTPC. Except for the cooling, it appears it will work pretty darn well for my purposes on a 28" 720 dpi TV. If you want a basic computer, this is not a bad one to get. If you want to upgrade it for more advanced purposes without access to free parts or a willingness to buy cheaper/used parts, you might be better off going to one of the name brand websites and looking at the newer refurbed/off-lease/cosmetically damaged models. 12/08/2013

Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great product for the money! I was overall very satisfied with this order. It arrived one day later than expected, but was worth every cent! Once delivered I plugged it in, downloaded my Microsoft Office 2013 and was ready to go! It had a lot of updates that needed to be run but I waited until I went to bed & let it update throughout the night. Woke up next morning, everything was updated and it has been running great! I have no complaints at all! I bought this hard drive because the one I had ran on Windows XP and I needed to run Microsoft Office 2013, which requires a minimum of Windows 7. It was only a few more dollars for this, than it would have been to buy Windows upgrade! 02/11/2014
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Well worth the money, but..... Great computer for the price and easy set up. Love the 1 year warrantee on a refurbished machine. A word to the wise if you expect to get microsoft works that has comes with every computer I've bought new and refubished over the past decade+ you won't get it with this machine. In fact you get just the bare bones Windows 7 sans all updates (I had 128 windows updates to do). All in all for the price it can't be beat and I had an old copy of works to install so no extra cost for me so all worked out well in the end. 09/11/2013
