    Pats Her Dishwasher Lovingly...

    Customer review by LivLukas

    5.0 stars by LivLukas

I think the only way I would give this dishwasher up is over my dead, cold corpse. I have had this for a few months and I love how clean dishes get. I have only had a problem once when dish was blocking the sprayer from spinning, so now I have learned how best to load it. I use the flip down tray for my bowls and other small things. I have washed pots and pans with no problems. Make sure to rinse the strainer after every use. After trying several brands, I found Cascade Complete GEL to be the best, I put about a tablespoon in the tray and fire her up! Honestly, if I could marry this thing I would. I love it in a way that almost immoral. :-) But I gotta go, I got a load to wash. P.S.: I looked at buying this from Amazon, but choose WalMart cause of the site to store shipping. Saved me fifty bucks in shipping cost. But I refused to wash any dishes for the two weeks it took for it to arrive!!

    Has held up well

We purchased this product for use as our only dishwasher in a home that had none. It has stood up well over the past 6 months. We use it 2-3 times per week. There has been no leaking from the window or around the seals so far. The only thing I'd note is the door is difficult to latch without serious force. Also, be VERY careful when you disconnect it from the faucet because the drain hose does not empty itself fully. We usually open the dishwasher door and drape the hoses across the top to let it drain. This dishwasher has saved us many hours dishwashing, and for the money you'll be happy with it if you buy it.

    Great Little Dishwasher!

    Customer review by jliz326

After 4 years of washing dishes by hand I finally have a dishwasher in my apartment! This is a great little machine. Extremely easy to set up - I had it going within 15 minutes of opening the box. My Corelle dinner plates fit fine standing up. I love the waterheating feature. I live in an old apartment and it takes 1-2 minutes to get hot water from the tap. So the machine heats the water to sanitizing temperature and saves water. Because each wash only uses 2.2L of water, I bet I'm saving at least 40 gallons of water a week. This is great for 1-2 people. Any more than that and you'd have to run it a couple of times a day. I think it rocks!

We want to use these in our school's science lab but there is a concern about installation. Is it just screwing in a few hoses or does it involve more?
    by an anonymous customer 11/2/2009
    • easy, just screwing a few hoses on and plugging it in. I did this by myself (single mother) while my 1 year old napped in the next room. I did have to buy 2 adaptors at the hardware store to connect the hose because I do not have a standard faucet. It was simple and $11.

    • The exact procedure is hooking up 2 hoses (I recommend ensuring they are completely uncoiled beforehand, as they are both affixed at the other end to a single fixture) to the rear of the dishwasher. These use different connectors so you can't put them in the wrong place. Replace the aerator on your faucet with the supplied adaptor (washers are included). The hose fixture attaches to the adaptor with a quick-disconnect fitting, which snaps easily into place. Plug the power cord in, turn on the water, and you are ready to start washing. Total time from out-of-box to washing the first load of dishes was less than 15 minutes, and even without the directions included, even a child could likely set this unit up properly. I did this with a set of slip-joint pliers to remove the aerator and to snug the lines on the back of the unit for a proper seal.

    • Very easy hook up if the connector will screw on to your faucet.

    • That's exactly it, just a few hoses to hook up and the faucet connector and you're finished and ready to go. It took me less than 15 minutes!

    • Nope, not at all. It'll take you 15 mins. max. And yes it's just attaching hoses and adjusting the facuet head. It comes with the fitting for the facuet. You shouldn't even need any tools.

    • I have owned this for close to a year. Very happy with this purchase! Only problem encountered was the hookup. Be very careful when hooking up to faucet and be sure to press release valve prior to unhooking.

I have just bought one of these Danby Countertop dishwashers. It didn't wash my dishes very good. Then I saw that the detergent is almost unused. I used the powder type detergent, and pour it in the fossa mentioned in the manual. Does any one have any idea what I can do to make it work better?
    by Jupiter80 10/27/2008
    • use liquid detergent, it works better. no powder "flakes" left on the dishes after they are done.

    • I use the packets that dissolve in the wash cycle. I put it in the one end of the silverware basket closest to the middle of the dishwasher. I just don't put silverware in the one small part. It works great and I have never had a problem. They dissolve and my dishes are clean every time.

    • The use of a gel-type detergent is recommended. I use Cascade Complete, and it works wonderfully. The problem with powder is that gravity causes the detergent to enter the water pool at the bottom and be sprayed, but if it is sprayed before it can all fall, then it is likely to cake on the door and not be used, whereas a gel will only flow faster when water is added.

    • Powder doesn't work very well in any dishwasher made in the last twenty years or so. The Great Value liquid, or any liquid is amazingly better in any machine! Powder just turns into a wet lump in even high end machines, so use the liquid. Make sure there's no crud dried on the dishes either; and at least give the dishes a good scraping before they go in to wash right after using. That with liquid soap- they'll be clean!

    • i use the great value dishwashing gel. i just fill up the side that has the gap on the right side of the door. i haven't tried any of the powders since the gel was cheaper and it works. i hope things work out for you, good luck!!

    • I use Cascade and the jet dry additive. I also make sure the drain is clean and pre-wash( at least get the food off) dishes before I wash. I turn the hot water on and let it run until its good and hot before I hook up hose. Love mine!
