Fantastic Product for a small apartment or house. I am very pleased with my purchase. The only problem I encountered is that some of my plates are too tall to fit in standing up straight.

I mostly purchased this to ensure that my dishes are sanitary, not just washed. This is my third Danby Dishwasher. The first was an older model 4 place was replaced by a floor standing 8 place which was left behind in a move. I recommend all of them. Durability is great. This new countertop 6 place is really quiet for the type. If I had to find a flaw it would be the instruction book does not indicate the location of the Jetdry adjustment control (it does show the fill cap). I haven't found it yet but they're are no 6 year olds living in the building so I'll hire one. If you go that route they'll have it hooked up before you find the English half of the instructions. Its that easy. Maybe just a bit of muscle to unscrew the screen off the kitchen faucet but that's all.

This countertop dishwasher works great, every dish comes out completely clean, even if it had food burnt on. It also washes pots and pans well. Another plus is that it's really quiet and it dries almost everything completely. My only complaint is that it leaks a bit where the hoses hook up. The hose hooking up to the faucet has a constant small stream, and where the hose hooks up to the back of the machine there's a slow drip. We haven't tried anything to correct this situation yet but hopefully will find a way to at least reduce the leaking. Also the interior dents fairly easily so be careful when loading dishes that nothing will push on the sides. Overall I love this dishwasher as it really does get the job done! One other thing, I got this through the Site to Store feature and it was really fast! It came in 2 days after ordering. Be prepared: it's heavily packaged so you'll need to have a vehicle large enough to hold it. It comes in a box about the size of a regular dishwasher.

The Danby dishwasher has helped my back stop hurting. I have had too much extra strain on my back lately, and was working to hard to try to get and keep my dishes clean. I wasn't achieving that task. I got the Danby dish washer instead of a back brace! After about a week of putting the dishes in the dish washer when cooking, on the quick cycle that runs for 10 minutes, my back was feeling better. It was like I had taken a whole load off of it. Using the Danby Dishwasher has given my back time to heal from the strain, and my back has gotten back strong again. So it was a good and worthwhile purchase for me. Also it's a countertop dishwasher but I have used it for a tabletop dishwasher because my kitchen counter is very small. The table sits right next to the sink, the hoses are long enough to reach and it works out perfectly space wise! If you have trouble getting the aerator off of your sink to replace it with the adapter, get the very large pair of pliers that fits all of the way around the cap to twist it off. They're about $20 at the hardware store. Remember to turn the water off and push the red button on the side of the attachment before you detach the hose from the adapter or else water will squirt in your face!

I had non stop issues with this device. I am decently handy and do a lot of the work around the house myself, so I am not unfamiliar with tools or appliances but this thing was pure garbage. From the get go, I had constant issues with the sensitivity the device has with water pressure errors (the flow is not strong enough, or too strong). When I finally got the water flowing at a rate that it likes, and after a few washes - I would get a water overflow error and find that the device was leaking water all over the counter top and I'd have to spend hours wiping it up and mopping it off the floor. Its not leaking from any of the attachments in the back, but rather from random holes and corners below the device? Why do you put random holes and crevices below the device like that so water could just spout all over the place? Why didn't Danby just put the plastic pan, at the bottom, at a slight angle and let it drip out in a controlled manner like a funnel. Chances are your dishwasher is next to the sink so any water that overflows could get funneled through the side of the bottom pan and out directly into the sink. Instead you have gaps and holes throughout the bottom plastic cover??? So when it overflows, it starts in the middle of the countertop that its sitting on - unreachable, until the water drips outward... In terms of hooking it up to the faucet, that's not all that realistic given that the "quick attach" piece that attaches to the faucet head locks in through movable ball bearings. Gallons of water overflows out of this attachment during the wash. I'm not some big conservationist, but I do have to pay for my own water bill and watching that much water spew out of the attachment during a 2 hour run hurts. Instead, I attached the dishwasher directly into the hot water feed below the sink. You just need to buy a water cable that has the correct fit on both ends. You can find this at plumbing stores (home depot and lowe's only has limited selections). In any case, this model is actually mass manufactured by another vendor and its re-badged as a Danby. The other brand it''s sold under is SPT. After returning this junk, I went and bought the older model Danby 4-place setting dishwasher. That has been working well for me so far, although it fits less items.

    • A. Yes. A slight mod is needed and included. That is replacing the aeration screen with the quick connect adapter. I made the mod and hooked it up with no tools. NOTE! My last apartment had a fancy spray head on the kitchen faucet and I had to roll the machine (that was the floor 8 Place Model) within reach of the bathroom sink to hook it up.

    • A. It sits right on the counter top and does plug into a 3 prong wall outlet. If no 3 prong outlet available you can always purchase a 2 prong to 3 prong adapter piece (maybe $2-$3 for a single, more expensive around $7-$8 if you go with something like a power strip). Then just attach the hose attachment to your kitchen sink faucet and you're ready to go! (Hope this helps. :)

    • A. The manufacturer specifies that the maximum diameter of the dinner plates it will accommodate is ten and one half inches. As it happens, that is the diameter of a standard Corning Corelle round dinner plate. However, you can use the machine to wash larger plates, if you load them in "non-traditional" ways. If you do so, however, you will not be able to wash as many at a time. Alas, our dinner plates have gotten larger. Corning Corelle was once the standard. Their round plates have not changed in size in decades, and they were once considered to be quite large. Today, however, they seem rather smaller than do a lot of other more fashionable plates. But there are limits to what a machine which is designed to fit on a counter top, and beneath standard mounted upper cabinets, can do! If you really want to wash a lot of really large plates, perhaps one of the roll away models is for you.
