Customer Product Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5★ by 15reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Total trash. If you are looking at this gun, remembering the one you had as a kid. Forget it. It's not the same as the old daisy BB gun you used to have.First, the gun I bought shot to the right. Far to the right. Even after " maxing out " the windage adjustment the gun shot 2 to 3inches to the right on a 15 foot shot. Second, it has no power. It will not penetrate a empty soda can at anything over 8 feet. The power is so low in fact, that the bb's drop around 5 inches on a 30 foot shot. The only way to hit a piece of notebook paper at 30 feet is to aim at the upper left hand corner. After a hour of shooting, I boxed it back up and returned it to Walmart and got a refund.Oh, and for the people who think my childhood memories of the original model 25 may be getting fuzzy. My father still has his old model 25. It was there the day we shot the new one. Even after 40 years of wear and abuse. It still out shot the new gun in every way possible, shooting dead level and straight for well over 30 feet. And at 30 feet, it will easily penetrate the soda cans that the new gun just dented at half that distance. 01/27/2013
Rated 2 out of 5★ by OK gun for biginner Bought a Red Rider a few weeks ago and love it. So I read some reviews on the Modle 25 and ordered one thinking it would be nice to have a different gun also. I shot only 50 rounds and returned it right back to Walmart. First off I did not like the loading procedure which is very slow and cumbersome. Then I noticed the end of the barrel is split open on the bottom about one inch or so. Looks like poor manufacturing. The placment of the pump grip is to far foward so after each pump you have to hold the gun midway down on the metal itself. Don't like that either. Pump action was smooth and trigger pull good. I usually shoot at 60ft with my Red Rider and hit the target always. With this gun I only hit the same target 5 out of 50 shoots. The Red Rider is by far a better gun. I have to say that Walmart is great on accepting return items. 06/22/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great BB Gun Much Like The Old Ones Nice Quality This gun is much like the old ones but in many ways much better , it is well made with nice metal all around with a nice finish and the wood fore grip and stock are smooth and of good color . The gun is easy to load ( add a few drops of 20 weight oil to the oil hole in the barrel before shooting ) and great accuracy out of the box , was hitting soda bottle caps on the first shots . The features that are better than the old ones are : tighter tolerances of construction , wood stock instead of plastic on most , crossbolt safety , flip up peep sight , shot tube is light years better and easier to use , and a pressed ingraved reciever instead of silkscreened . Yes it would be great if it was made here but would not be in the price range it is . You may need to buy at least two as when your family fires this one they will want their own . Best shooting value mixed with fun you can buy . 03/29/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by brings back memories Nicely built for the moneyRear sight is to close for my older eyes to see clearly.Nice weight and heft.I like the Red Ryder better.Cheap enough. Buy both and see for yourself. 10/08/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by A Classic That's a Hoot to Shoot!! Walmart got my Daisy Model 25 to my local store quickly and before the expected delivery date. The rifle looks great and it's action cycles easily. Mine turned out to be very accurate, too. My only gripe is that it shoots a lot slower than the advertised 350 FPS--the best I got across my chronograph was 254 FPS with a low of 190. It seemed to average in the 230's and many shots wouldn't even penetrate a sheet of shipping box cardboard, instead just imbedding into it.Otherwise it's a total hoot to shoot. You can fire as fast as you can pump it which is a lot more than I can say for the Crosmans I own which not only require you to pump them 2-10 times but manually load a BB or pellet for each shot. The Daisy is also a bargain at the price I paid ($34.06 plus tax) and will make for hours of wintertime shooting in the garage. 09/12/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by don't expect high power just high quality I have an older model 25, this new one is better. Instead of a painted design on it they rolled stamped the design in now and instead of a plastic stock and grip it's wood now and they made it easier to line up the barrel feed tube over all its a better rifle than my older one. The only thing I like about my older one is that it's made in America vs China. If your expecting a high power rifle with this gun your going to be disappointed your better off getting a more expensive pellet rifle. If you're looking for something that has a nice nostalgic feel and is accurate to about 30' for picking off soda cans in the backyard this is perfect. People that bash this rifle buy this rifle with the wrong intent and wrong expectations, do your research and buy the rifle that meets you needs. For me this rifle is awesome. 05/27/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Bought 3 will buy more. I just love this gun. I own two of this gun and bought a 3rd collectors edition from Daisy Museum for $150. The 2 chinese made guns are more powerful than the collectors edition. The fist gun I bought was extremely accurate, I can get 1 hole at 15 feet. But that one had a "defect" where the whole gun was locked solid. I made the mistake of taking in in two parts, with a lot of force, now I have to shimmy both guns with copper wires to lock it tight again. Now they both shoots dime 1/2 inch at 15 feet. One of the two guns has a "defect" in the trigger where it gives the feel of a 2-stage trigger, with this gun I can get 1/4 inch holes most of the time. The collectors gun with walnut stock and blue metal shoots terrible, 2" group at 15 feet. For $34 I am buying another one and paint the stocks pink for my daughter. 11/21/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Good and accurate BB gun This BB gun is well made, sturdy and fun to shoot. It's quiet and has decent power for target shooting at 50 feet. Oil it when you get it and it will perform well. It will also help if you have reasonable expectations knowing this is a BB gun. If power is your thing, go with a pellet gun. The Model 25 will kill small varmints if needed but it's strong suit is plinking and scarring unwanted critters from the back yard.I think a 10 year old may have trouble operating the pump mechanism but a 12 yr old should do well. Get one for your child, and one for you. 06/02/2014
