Rated 1 out of 5 by adiso low quality audio and very short sound loops the item description specifically states: "The speaker of this Dex sound sleeper machine is of high quality...". this is an utterly false. any cheap laptop speaker is of higher quality than this. it's as if you're listening to sounds that are supposed to be soothing through a bad intercom system.also the audio loops are really short. the seagull sound, for example, is just the same exact 4 chirps being repeated again and again. it becomes annoying after a minute or two.you would be better off playing some mp3 files on a portable mp3 player connected to some cheap computer speakers, or alternatively play the files on a phone. it will sound much much better. 05/11/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by mammaN This is my second DEX Baby machine! I bought this machine 3 years ago and my son still sleeps with it on! The only sound we have used it on is Rain...who would use an anchor clanking, really??...and it has always been loud enough for us on the loudest setting. I had to buy a new one recently because I plugged it into a converter in Europe and blew its power cord, but before that, we traveled with it and used it every night without any problems! It is hard to find a plug in noise machine that has battery back-up and has an endless play setting for the sounds. This one fit all our requirements and works well! I have recommended it many times to other moms. 07/02/2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by 1999waiting like the sound mchine tho I wish it had some music with it . It has a calming affect that helpswith the sleep. not as restless. and that is what it is meant for so does it's job. won't mind having one that also plays music, for the other room. 03/09/2012
