    Wonderful Product for My Baby

I strictly breastfeed and when she is full she immediately falls asleep and when I go to put her down in her crib(flat surface) she would immediately wake up. When I got the wedge it was initially to prevent SIDs and indigestion. It is now used to keep her propped up at the angle she lays in when she is nursing so she stays asleep. And she moves a lot in her sleep and rolls over. That makes me nervous when she rolls over in fear she would not be able to breath laying on her stomach. The wedge holds her at such an angle that it keeps her from rolling. The wedge stretches the full width of the crib and is firm and seems very durable. Hopefully it will last long enough to be used as a pillow for a toddler.

I wanted to put this in our eddi bauer bassinet. It comes in 2 pieces of foam with a water proof zip up cover to put over them. It works great in the bassinet! Our daughter spits up alot and we wanted her proped up a little. This is great! Later we will put it under her crib mattress!

Got this because our 4 week old baby wouldn't sleep in crib wanted to stay in boppy seat because it was elevated. Anyway we got this wedge and she has been sleeping in her crib ever since. What a god send, you should get one.

Great for babies with reflux or a cold.

We had one of these for my second son who had acid reflux but wish I had one for my first son because he had acid reflux as well and didn't sleep through the night til he was 9 months old. So of course now that we are expecting a 3rd child some 5 years after our second child I definitely bought another one. Our second son started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old and I believe it was due to this crib wedge. I would just put it under his mattress sheet and the turn his boppy upside down and put his little bum in it so that he wouldn't slide down the mattress. He LOVED it and slept great. Also great for a little elevation when your child has a cold. The first one I bought was from babies r us and was much more expensive then this one and they are exactly the same. Definitely buy this product.

Our baby is 3 months old and has been sleeping in a car seat or swing ONLY because of awful acid reflux. We looked at these reviews and decided to get it. The negative reviews were silly. Yes it comes in 2 pieces that you have to put in the bag, and yes it is cheap foam, but the waterproof outer bag trumps any pillow especially if you are using it for acid reflux! You can't even tell there is a seam in the middle between the two wedges; if you put it under the fitted crib sheets it is perfect. You can't beat the price; if I went to the fabric store and bought foam, a zipper and the water proof fabric it would come so close to the same price it wouldn't even be worth the time. Also, putting books under the mattress doesn't work because there is no angle in the middle of the mattress for the butt to rest so the baby will just slide all the way down the mattress or end up upside down. This is my 3rd baby and honestly I wish we had this product for my 2nd child too because she had ear infections for the first 2 years of her life, and the doctor said to elevate her mattress on one end to relieve the pressure in her ears each time she got an infection. As I mentioned that doesn't work out so well. Another great thing about this product is it reaches both ends of the mattress so the baby won't fall over the edge once he starts rolling around more. The fact that there are 2 wedges is great too because we can still use it in the pack 'n' play if we travel, by taking one wedge out and putting some rolled up receiving blankets on either side so he doesn't slide off the side. The only down side is he was always snug in his car seat so it's like we're finally teaching him to sleep in the open so he woke himself up a lot in the night due to flailing limbs. Oh well; he has to learn at some point! Hopefully it won't take him too many nights to figure out his body more and get used to having his legs free to move.

Is this wedge designed to go underneath the mattress, or does it go on top of the mattress but underneath the fitted sheet? I ask because the baby monitor we have has a sensor pad that is underneath the mattress and I have to have the mattress flat up against the bottom of the crib, so this will not work for me if it has to be under the mattress. Thanks!!!

    • A. This wedge is designed to go under the fitted sheet on top of the mattress, so it shouldn't interfere with your monitor, but I would caution you that the wedge is not very long, so it only creates a small lift to the child's head when the head is placed very near the edge of the crib and the baby doesn't move.

    • A. I just put mine on top of the mattress under the crib sheet and works great. I suppose you could place it under the mattress as well, although I dont know if this would cause the mattress to stay bent or damaged after you removed the wedge.

    • A. yes, it is the width of a crib mattress. BUT you can use it at half width also. it's made up of two seperate foam pieces that are zipped together seemlessly. It's shipped this way to save on room. So they come folded in a "square" that's half the size of the mattress. and then you zip it together (the zipper is just on the bottom/underneath side, the top is one continuous piece. I use mine the normal way in the crib and sometimes unzip it, fold it in half and use it in the bassenet. This way it has more incline if you want it.

    • A. I'm not sure (using it in co-sleeper and future crib is 500 miles away), but my guess is there will be a little space. I'm using the side holders that keep babies from turning over and that's working for my DD, so if there is space, you can compensate with that.

    • A. The sheet would probably fit, but the foam in the wedge isn't very strong. So if u put the mattress on top of the wedge, it would flatten the wedge. I would recommend putting the sheet half way on, then sliding the wedge under the sheet on top of the mattress, and then put the sheet the rest of the way on.

    • A. Yes. However, I would reccomend that you put it "under" the mattress pad and then just put the fitted sheet over your mattress pad, It will create the elevation you need but the baby won't get spit up on the foam this way.
