Rated 5 out of 5 by Fun, Long Lasting, Intricate Story-line, Graphics I was wondering what game I should buy next, since I was becoming bored of the Call of Duty franchise, but still wanted a shooter, with not many other good games on the market right now. I thought about buying Halo, after so many people have told me about how great it is. I, however, am not a fan of Halo, so I needed to find a whole other series. After buying, Section 8, which I now regret, I thought there were no more shooters out there that were worth it. Then I saw Crysis 2, instantly catching my attention. I researched it, in which I saw it had amazing graphics, and after buying the game, I can agree that they are the best graphics I've ever seen. If you're not the type of person to care about graphics, as long as the game is fun, well then you won't be disappointed. This game offers a mix between Halo and Call of Duty. Your character is high-tech and has upgradeable powers, such as ground smash, invisibility, and super armor, such as something that may be found in Halo, but your guns and surroundings seem as if they would be from a Call of Duty game or similar games. The solo play itself is awesome. The story-line is great, and I have yet to beat the game, but it's already lasted me a long time. The controls themselves are easy to understand, similar to most shooters, and the tutorial makes it very easy. With upgradeable powers, and differing strategies, you can either be the covert person, and stealth kill every enemy, or you could activate armor, and charge right in and try your luck. Either way works, and either way is fun. The solo campaign is also suspenseful to an extent. At some points the room will be dim, or the screen will start to shake, and you can only expect something to happen. The best feature, in my opinion, is the weapon customization. Once you find a weapon, you can choose the attachments for it right then and there, and switch them at anytime, even in the midst of battle. The only requirement is that you first pick up a gun with the desired attachment first. The solo campaign is pretty gory, but thats why it's rated M. The enemies' blood looks like a very red jelly, how ever, there are some dead bodies, or dying bodies, that are pretty gruesome. People with weak stomachs may want to consider that when buying the game, although it shouldn't be a reason why you don't buy it. Finally, multiplayer. To my dismay, there is no offline multiplayer, as fun as that would be, so if you don't have Xbox Live, then you're pretty limited to the fun you can have. However, the online slightly disappointed me. There are a lot of small things, and some bigger things. Multiplayer is like a Call of Duty game. You have your classes and your guns, and your "perks," which are characteristics of your suit. You can "purchase" new ones when you get points or when you reach a certain level, since your suit has 3 leveling abilities, Armor, Strength, and Stealth (3 Perk Categories). They all level separately, although I'm unsure of the max level, if you get to level 6 with one, you unlock more perks to buy. You achieve points by doing certain things, such as missions. Getting kills with a gun, attachment, etc. The interesting thing is that, similar to Black Ops, you can purchase guns and attachments once you reach the right level. However, you gain points for only certain categories, such as the SCAR weapon, which can be earned by getting kills with that gun only. Upon receiving a point, you can then buy a new attachment, which is a really cool feature. I only have a few things to pick about multiplayer that bug me. The use of invisibility and super armor are abused, promoting camping in corners or just butchering you at point blank. If used right, it gives the game an intricate multiplayer status, if not, it takes away from those you actually try or are just learning. Another issue is the lack of guns. In total, there are about 13 guns, and 4 types of grenades/launchers. Of those 13ish guns, 4 are pistols. The only thing I dislike about this is the lack of variation among players, with most using the same gun, since a new gun isn't unlocked until level 13, and then 21. The spacing between these unlocks is a turn off to those who wish to continue leveling up, since unlocks are so far away. Finally, a very small issue, when shooting a person on multiplayer, it doesn't show hit markers or anything, making it unknown just how much you're hitting them, if at all. This is a very small issue, and could be easily patched up. Anyways, this game has AMAZING graphics, an intricate story-line, great game-play, a cool skill system, and has a decent multiplayer network, with about 12 people per game. Overall, a definite 5 stars. A must buy for any shooter fan! 05/05/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Epic Masterpiece If you are wanting to buy a game that is playable this game by far is awesome. The graphics are stunning. Crytek put many hours and didnt miss anything with the graphics. the water is very realistic which most companies skip over and do little for. they look at every detail and do the best a human can do. Single plaer you will be playing a long time because there are multiple ways of going through each section. Multyplayer is by far the best thing for me since that is all i play. If you are wanting a game that is better than call of duty go get this game 03/29/2011

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Long Campaign, decent Multiplayer I'd say this is a pretty good Halo clone. It plays like a blend between Halo and Call of Duty. I like both so I liked this game. I know some Call of Duty fanatics that don't like this game. While others that like Halo liked this game. So if you are looking for a decent Halo clone with a good campaign and multiplayer, pick this one up. 04/14/2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome graphics Very cool FPS. Lots of gadgets for the suit. I like the stealth mode for sneaking up on enemies. The graphics engine in this game must have cost a small fortune. I have not experienced any other game with such detail and realism. If your crafty, you can find lots of super bang weapons to inililate the enemy and surrounding objectives. Each time you kill an alien, the suit adapts and identifies the markers of the alien and becomes part of the suit. Very cool. 04/11/2011
