    • A. No. 20 caliber means the pellet is 0.20 inch in diameter. 20 gauge is an archaic measure that means that 20 lead balls the diameter of the barrel weigh a total of one pound. Shotguns go up to 8 gauge I think and only 8 lead balls the diameter would weigh a pound. So the barrel on an 8 gauge would be much bigger than on a 20 gauge.

    • A. No! The nominal diameter of a 20-gauge shotgun bore is .615". The nominal diameter of the Sheridan Blue Streak's .20 caliber bore is ----- .20" inches. Don't feel "stupid" for not knowing the difference. Gun terminology is often confusing and descriptions of air guns can be especially challenging, since many are manufactured to European or Asian metric specifications rather than to our "12 inches = 1 foot" system in the USA.

    • A. No, 20 Guage applies to shotguns, not rilfles. This .20 carbine is a 20 cal (caliber), which refers to the diameter of the pellet that it shoots which is equal to 5 millimeter. Air rifles come in three calibers 177(4.5mm), 20(5mm) and 22(5.5mm).

    • A. No it's not. 20 gauge is referring to shotgun ammunition.

    • A. Not the same, .20 cal. is 5mm in diameter.

    • A. No....the .20 number is a caliber number just like it's smaller brother the .177.....These are both calibers used in air rifles.......The 20 gauge shotgun is a completely different caliber, shotgun gauges..10...12...16...20...410....are not to be confused with a caliber number.....

I had been looking for quite some time, to replace my 35 yr old Sheridan (finally wore-out, wouldn't hold air), but I couldn't seem to find any retailer that was carrying the 20 cal. version. When I searched on line, I did find some but they were asking a premium for the 20 cal, then I found the Walmart had it for a great price. The rifle arrived in perfect condition and performs as well as my old one and actually seems to be a little more powerful. As for the Sheridan itself, after a couple of test-shots, I was able to sight-it-in to the point that I can place two pellets through the same hole in the target, so the accuracy is excellent. I know that there are newer air rifles on the market that are more powerful and require only a single cocking-action, but I really wanted the ability to control the power, so this multi-pump model is just what I wanted.

This gun is powerful and accurate, fast shipping via Walmart. only thing i would change about this gun is the seitz. i have a crossman phantom and it has awesome sites on it, this gun, is very high quality and powerful, but the seitz are just uncomfortable. i now have to buy the addon to equip the gun with a scope. thank you Walmart, great service, i was surprised.

Received my blue streak today. The rifle is everything I expected in quality and finish. But the quality control of the packaging was terrible. The bolt was sticking through the box, I'm surprised it wasn't damaged and the key for the trigger lock was obviously smashed. I don't know how it could have broke in the box. A shim's missing on the bolt receiver side. . All in all it shoots well and hits hard. I won't buy anymore air rifles from Walmart again. I'll stick with pyramid air, they take pride and care in the packaging of their air rifles.

This was purchased as a replacement of the same model from the late 70's. It is a close match with a few cost cutting short-cuts. The sighting was WAY off but was mostly adjustable, the stock is pretty but some sanding was necessary for pumping comfort. The price here was lower than elsewhere and the shipping was not too slow (8-9 days). I think this gun will function fairly well as the materials seem good but the fit and finish was not the quality I expected.

Have been wanting this airgun but price was a little steep. However, when Wal-Mart had it on sale with a huge discount, I couldn't pass up.
